The Seriousness of Debt: A Trust That Must Be Repaid in This Life or in The Hereafter
By Ustādh Abu 'Abdur Rahmān Saleem (may Allāh preserve him)
• No one will escape the reckoning of Allāh.
• Every right that has been violated will be justly restored to its rightful owner on the Day of Judgement.
• Among the affairs in which negligence and injustice frequently occur are financial dealings.
• One such injustice is borrowing people's money whilst being negligent or careless about repaying it.
• A Muslim should not be hasty or careless when taking on debt, particularly when there is no genuine need for doing so.
• Before borrowing, a person should sincerely ask themselves: Do I really need to borrow this money? Am I genuinely able to repay it? Or am I simply living beyond my means?
• The Prophet ﷺ would seek refuge in Allāh from falling into debt.
• Debt can become a cause of lying and breaking promises.
• Debt can ruin friendships, damage relationships and even divide families.
• The matter of debt is so serious that Allāh revealed an entire verse concerning it , the longest verse in the Qur’ān.
• The Prophet ﷺ informed us that the martyr is forgiven for everything except debt.
• Such was the seriousness of debt that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ would refrain from personally offering the funeral prayer over someone who had died whilst he had a debt.
• Particularly severe is the matter of borrowing money without having the intention to repay it.
• Hadeeth: The only recompense for a loan is to praise the lender and repay him.
• Hadeeth: The best of you are those who are best in repaying their debts.

The Dire Consequences of Opposing the Messenger ﷺ
By Shaykh Abu Idrees Muhammad (may Allāh preserve him)
• The severe consequences, in this life and the Hereafter, of opposing the commands of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
• A beautiful explanation from Imām Ibn Katheer regarding the commands of the Messenger ﷺ.
• The calamities that arise from opposing the guidance of the Prophet ﷺ.
• The believer accepts and embraces the commands and judgements of the Messenger ﷺ without hardship or discomfort.
• Ibn Katheer: Whatever the Messenger ﷺ commands with contains only good, and whatever he forbids contains evil.
• Every wrong and dispute will ultimately be settled on the Day of Judgement.
• The importance of learning and studying the religion so that we do not fall into that which opposes the commands of the Prophet ﷺ.
• A tremendous lesson from the Battle of Uhud.
• The causes of humiliation and disgrace upon the Ummah.

Tawheed: The Unshakable Fortress
By Ustādh Abu 'Abdur Rahmān Saleem (may Allāh preserve him)
• Tawheed is the foundation and highest expression of true eemaan.
• The greatest command that Allāh has obligated upon His servants is Tawheed, to worship Him alone without associating any partners with Him.
• Understanding the various types and acts of worship, and directing them sincerely to Allāh alone.
• Tawheed is a protection from afflictions and trials, both in this life and in the Hereafter.
•The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) explained the true meaning of injustice.
•Ibn al-Qayyim explained that Tawheed is among the greatest means of attaining security from fear, whereas shirk is among the greatest causes of fear.
•Those who truly fulfil and actualise Tawheed are granted tranquillity and security, and are protected from many forms of distress and affliction.
•Shaytān has no authority over those who believe in Allāh correctly and place their trust in Him.
• Through Tawheed, distress is relieved and adversities are removed.
• Tawheed is among the greatest means by which our sins are forgiven.
• We must recognise, appreciate and give thanks for the tremendous blessing of Tawheed and for how greatly Allāh has favoured us by guiding us to it.
•As Muslims, we must strive to actualise Tawheed in our own lives and cultivate it within our families, teaching it, living by it and remaining steadfast upon it.

The Mawlid: A Practice Unknown to the Companions رضي الله عنهم
By Ustādh Abu 'Ukkashah 'Abdul Hakeem (may Allāh preserve him)
•The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) sternly warned against bidʿah (innovations in the religion).
• The most evil of affairs are those newly introduced into the religion.
• Those who introduce or practice innovations in the religion of Islām, do they think they have the right to legislate in the religion of Allāh?!
• The one who practices innovation in the religion is, in reality, implying through his bidʿah that the religion of Allāh is incomplete.
• A stern and frightening statement from Imām Maalik (d. 179 AH) regarding those who innovate in the religion.
• There was no good that could bring us closer to Allāh except that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) clarified it and showed it to us.
• Opposing the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) can lead to disbelief and hypocrisy.
• None of the Companions celebrated the Mawlid.
• There is no such thing as a “good bidʿah.”
• The Mawlid was introduced by the Shīʿah.
• A beautiful statement from Imām Ibn al-Qayyim.
• Some of the evil actions that occur alongside the Mawlid.
• Do you truly love Allāh? Measure your claim against a verse in the Qurʾān (3:31)

Indeed, Allāh Is Ever Watchful Over You
By Ustādh Abu 'Ukkashah 'Abdul Hakeem (may Allāh preserve him)
• Allāh is the most deserving that we should be shy of Him.
• When there are no eyes upon you and the doors are closed, then fear Allāh.
• The hypocrites only feared the creation and had no care or concern regarding Allāh's knowledge of their deeds.
• The hypocrites were shameless in their statements, actions and plotting.
• They hide their evil deeds from the people, but they do not hide them from Allāh.
• The hypocrites did not care that Allāh knew of their hidden and inner affairs of corruption, as they only worried about what the people thought of them.
• Allāh, out of His mercy, does not take us to account straight away for our sins.
• Allāh gives us time and respite to repent and rectify ourselves.
• The angels who record all our deeds and statements will testify.
• From Allāh's justice is that He will only bring us to account for what we have done, both good and bad.
• Each one of us has to ask ourselves: are we happy with the condition we are in now?
• The Day when the skin, hands and legs will testify to what we have done..
