قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: حديث “خمس ليالٍ لا تُرَدُّ فيهن الدعوة” وذكر منهن ليلة النصف من شعبان، قال عنه الحافظ ابن حجر: طرقه كلها معلولة، وقال الألباني: موضوع. • The hadith “Five nights in which supplications are not rejected”, and among them, the night of the middle of Sha’ban was mentioned—Al-Hafidh Ibn Hajar said: All of its chains are defective, and Al-Albani said: It is fabricated. فلا يجوز الاعتماد عليه بتخصيص ليلة النصف من شعبان بدعاء مخصوص أو مزيد اجتهاد في الدعاء في تلك الليلة. • Thus, it is not permissible to rely on it for specifying the night of the middle of Sha’ban with a particular supplication or with increased effort in supplication on that night. https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli

قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: يُرَوِّج بعض الناس مقاطع فيها حث على اغتنام ليلة النصف من شعبان والاجتهاد في العبادة فيها، ولا شك أن هذا خطأ عظيم، فليس في تخصيصها بعمل حديث صحيح، ولا حديث ضعيف يرى بعض العلماء أنه يؤخذ به في فضائل الأعمال، ولا حديث ضعيف يمكن تقويته، بل أغلب ما ورد في هذا الباب موضوع مكذوب بلا شك، وقليل منها ضعيف جدًا كاد أن يبلغ في الضعف منتهاه. • Some people circulate clips encouraging the observance of the night of the fifteenth of Sha’ban and striving in worship during it, and there is no doubt that this is a grave mistake. There is no authentic hadith regarding specifying it with any particular act, nor any weak hadith that some scholars consider acceptable for virtuous deeds, nor any weak hadith that can be strengthened. Rather, most of what has been narrated on this matter is undoubtedly fabricated lies, and a small portion of it is extremely weak—almost reaching the lowest level of weakness. ولم يكن النبي ﷺ يلتفت إليها بعمل خاص ولا الصحابة رضوان الله عليهم، وكل ما ذُكِر من أنها أفضل ليلة بعد ليلة القدر لا أصل له، وإنما أحدث هذا جماعة ممن لا خُبر لهم بالحديث، وقد قيل إنه دخل عليهم من الإسرائيليات، وأنكر ذلك أكثر العلماء المتقدمين وذكروا أنه بدعة، وهو كذلك بلا شك. • The Prophet ﷺ never paid attention to it with any specific action, nor did the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them. Everything that has been mentioned about it being the best night after Laylat al-Qadr has no basis. Rather, this was introduced by people who had no knowledge of hadith, and it has been said that this notion entered upon them from the Israiliyyat (narrations from the People of the Book). Most of the early scholars rejected this and stated that it is an innovation, and without a doubt, that is the case. فالاحتفال أو الاحتفاء بليلة النصف من شعبان بدعة، وتخصيصها بصلاة كالصلاة التي تسمى بالألفية بدعة، وتخصيصها بقراءة معينة أو دعاء معين بدعة. • Celebrating or honouring the night of the fifteenth of Sha’ban is an innovation. Specifying it with a particular prayer, such as the so-called “Alfiyyah prayer,” is an innovation. Specifying it with a particular recitation or supplication is an innovation. والمشروع للمؤمن في هذه الليلة أن يتقرب إلى الله بما يتقرب به في سائر الليالي دون زيادة، مع الحرص على السلامة من الشرك والسلامة من البدع، والحرص على لزوم الجماعة وعدم مفارقتها، وهذا فرض العمر كله وليس في هذه الليلة فقط، وكذلك الحرص على عدم التهاجر بين المسلمين من أجل الدنيا فوق ثلاث، وهذا واجب على المؤمن في سائر أيامه ولياليه. • What is legislated for a believer on this night is to draw closer to Allah with the same acts of devotion that are done on other nights, without any addition—while being keen on avoiding shirk and innovations, remaining steadfast with the congregation and not separating from it. This is an obligation for one’s entire lifetime, not just on this night. Likewise, one must be cautious of severing ties with fellow Muslims for worldly reasons beyond three days, and this is an obligation upon the believer at all times, day and night. ‏أخي المؤمن أختي المؤمنة، هذا الحق بلا شك، فالزم حتى تغنم، وعض عليه بالنواجذ، وإياك ومحدثات الأمور. • My believing brother, my believing sister, this is the truth without a doubt.
