قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: لزوم طاعة ولي الأمر المسلم في غير معصية الله نور يتوارثه الصالحون Adhering to the obedience of the Muslim ruler, in what is not disobedience to Allah, is a light inherited by the righteous. جاء في تاريخ الإسلام: It is mentioned in Tārīkh al-Islām: قال رجل لأبي وهب الزاهد: قم بنا حتى نزور فلانًا، فقال أبو وهب: A man said to Abū Wahb al-Zāhid: “Come with us so that we may visit so-and-so.” Abū Wahb replied: وأين العلم؟ وهل لنا أن نمشي ليلا؟ ونحن نعلم أن الإمام الذي ملكه الله أمر المسلمين في هذه البلدة قد منع من المشي ليلاً، وطاعته لنا لازمة، ففي هذا نقضٌ للطاعة وخروج عما يلزم. “And where is knowledge? Do we have the right to walk at night, while we know that the ruler whom Allah has entrusted with the affairs of the Muslims in this town has forbidden walking at night? The best of your deeds, O monotheist, are the Fajr prayer and the ’Asr prayer, so preserve them at all times, and give special attention to them during the cold. واحرص أيها الرجل على صلاتهما مع الجماعة وكن مع الراكعين. And be diligent, O man, in praying them with the congregation, and be with those who bow. فإن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: “من صلى البردين دخل الجنة.” For the Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever prays the two cool prayers (Fajr and ’Asr) will enter Paradise.” والبردان صلاة الفجر والعصر فلا يمنعنك دفء السرير من السير في طريق الجنة. قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله Shaykh Sulayman al-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: يا طالب العلم عليك بقيام الليل وكثرة الاستغفار والدعاء في آخر الليل وأكثر في صلاتك ودعائك من الاستعاذة بالله من شر الفتن تُعَن على الخير وتكفى شر الفتن فقد استيقظ النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ذات ليلة فقال: سبحان الله، ماذا أنزل الليلة من الفتن، وماذا فتح من الخزائن، أيقظوا صواحبات الحجر. O seeker of knowledge, it is upon you to perform the night prayer, to increase in seeking forgiveness, and to supplicate in the last part of the night. Increase in your prayer and supplication with seeking refuge in Allah from the evil of the trials. You will be aided in doing good and protected from the evil of the trials. Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ woke up one night and said: “Subḥān Allāh! How many afflictions Allah has revealed tonight and how many treasures have been sent down (disclosed). Go and wake the sleeping lady occupants of these dwellings up (for prayers).” ويا طالب العلم لا يكن همك ما يرضي الناس ويُكَثِّرهم حولك وليكن همك ما يرضي رب الناس من بث العلم والدعوة إلى الخير وكسر الشر ورد الخطأ بعلم وعدل وعقل وحكمة وبالتي هي أحسن، على سبيل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ففي ذلك الخير لك والرفعة الحقيقية ولو انفض عنك أكثر الناس ولو خسرت كثيرا من الدنيا. And O seeker of knowledge, let your concern not be what pleases people or gathering many around you. Rather, let your concern be what pleases the Lord of the people—spreading knowledge, calling to good, breaking the evil, correcting the mistake with knowledge, justice, intellect, wisdom, and in the best manner, following the way of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. In that is goodness for you and true elevation, even if most people turn away from you or if you lose much of this world. وإذا سُلِّط عليك سفهاء الناس مع استقامتك فاعلم أن ذلك لخير يريده ربك بك فاثبت واستغفر الله وأكثر من قول لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله. And if the foolish ones of the people are given authority over you while you remain upright, know that this is for a good that your Lord desires for you.
