In those days, the two seas south of Iran were a playground for the enemy’s forces. Today, because of the painful blows they have received from the brave warriors and defenders of the Strait of Hormuz, they do not advance beyond the Arabian Sea. Whenever they take a risk, they inflict harm upon themselves; and the time will soon come to cleanse the Arabian Sea of them. There were days when the oppressors, through psychological operations and the creation of an atmosphere of intimidation, emptied the streets of the capital, carried out a coup against the independence of this nation, and then plundered the wealth of this country for twenty-five years. Today, for seven months, our compatriots have adorned the squares and streets throughout the country with their responsible and enthusiastic presence, warming the hearts of the soldiers of Islam and striking fear into the enemy. Just as more than thirty million Iranians declared their readiness for sacrifice, when the need arose to organize a form of mobilization based on the renewed declaration of their presence, the required number of participants exceeded five hundred thousand within the first one hundred minutes alone. Today, throughout the Islamic Republic of Iran, adorned by the presence of Iranians from different ethnic groups, various preparations, particularly armed preparations, are being announced to create a reality that will bring them glory and their enemy disgrace. There were days when the courage of the people of this land was known through its men; today, we are in days when women surpass men in some areas of courage. There were days when the enemy continuously sought to weaken the social base of the system. Today, different segments of society, despite their evident differences, are pressing to preserve their legitimate positions, including preserving the blessed Strait of Hormuz. This comparison between the past and present could be expanded and explained, but in brief, I, the servant of the dear Iranian people, declare that those bygone days which our enemy wishes to bring back are gone and will never return. Of course, I must remind you, with pain and sorrow, that in these days, at the resting place of the great Khomeini and the great Khamenei, the martyrs of Almighty Allah, on this occasion... On this occasion, it is most fitting to commemorate the second anniversary of the martyrdom of the heroic Arab leader and great symbol of the Resistance Front, the Great Martyr His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, may Allah bless him. A man who held boundless love for his nation and his school, whose sincere and eloquent speeches and courageous actions strengthened the hearts of his people, and indeed the hearts of the peoples of the free world. A man who raised the name of Lebanon, this small country that for many years had been a stronghold for certain powers, to the highest ranks. A man for whom victory and triumph were constant companions, and who, without a doubt, throughout the history of the Levant and to this day, after the prophets and their successors, no man of comparable greatness had emerged from that ancient land. Of course, his honored banner is now in the hands of Sheikh Naim Qassem, may Allah protect him, who continues his path courageously at the forefront of the powerful ranks of Hezbollah, reminding us of the day of Ashura. The days Lebanon is passing through, in the face of history and present reality, are distinctive and glorious days for them and for all resistance fighters, and ultimately humiliating and disgraceful days for those who placed their hopes, in confronting the Zionist enemy, on false promises from those who oppress and protect them.

Message from His Eminence Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei (may Allah preserve him): In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful “And Our Messenger Moses promised you that he would bring your people out of darkness into light and remind them of the Days of Allah.” The first days of the month of Mehr remind us of the Days of Allah and of the great and enduring phenomenon represented by the valiant defense waged by the Iranian people over eight years during the First Imposed War. In those days, the warm rays of the Revolution’s sun spread across the land of Iran, fostering a profound sense of national solidarity and loyalty to the school and path of revolutionary Islam. Thanks to this, the ice of domination and colonialism, old and new, began to melt. In those days, some Iranians recalled memories from nearly twenty years earlier and the hostility of the colonial powers, as well as the events surrounding the nationalization of the oil industry and the American coup. Others heard accounts of those events, and many of them clearly felt the reality of what foreign domination had inflicted upon our country. Yet the days preceding that period had been dark and bleak, when the ambassadors of the arrogant governments would convey orders and prohibitions to the Shah, who, willingly or unwillingly, would carry them out, until the great revolution of the Iranian people, led by Imam Khomeini (may Allah have mercy on him), took place and completely overturned that situation. As a result of this Revolution, those dark days gave way to brighter days with the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This was extremely burdensome for the arrogant powers who coveted the wealth of this land and had committed all manner of injustices against its people for many years in pursuit of controlling it. Therefore, from that point onward, they did everything in their power to return the revolutionary nation to its previous course. The First Imposed War was the most important of their actions during the first decade of the Islamic Republic’s existence. From the heart of that war, which was ignited by the anti-people Baath Party based on the illusion that it would last only a few days and result in an easy victory, the Islamic system rose like a phoenix, more prosperous and stronger than before, with a louder voice and a broader reach than before. This continued to be the defining characteristic of this system in subsequent hostile events. Those were the days when the enemy of this nation had its agents rule over it and imposed a new form of colonialism. Through the Revolution and the raising of the banner of Islam and jihad in the context of the Imposed War, those days were transformed into glorious days that, even 38 years after the war’s end, when we examine the details of those events and the truthful accounts of those who survived them, remain filled with examples that teach us lessons in worship, courage, resistance, morality, and humanity, like shining stars in the dark history of our country. Those days, when at the beginning of the invasions by the agents of the dominant system our country had inherited empty-handed from the tyrannical regime the means to defend itself against numerous threats, were transformed, through the establishment of truth and divine assistance, into days when the aggressors themselves, rather than their agents, sought refuge from the attacks of the warriors of Islam and pleaded for an end to the war. The days to which they wish to return our country were days filled with backwardness, humiliation, dependence, and the disgrace that had befallen Iran in the Islamic world. Our present days, however, are days of progress, dignity, independence, and a high standing in the Islamic world, and indeed throughout the world. Yet a dead person is mourned, so is Sayyed Nasrallah truly dead? Can we mourn a man of Nasrallah's stature? How can we mourn history, legend, values, dignity, manhood, piety, righteousness, resistance, honor, truthfulness, trustworthiness, beauty, steadfastness, patience, and chivalry? How can we mourn the religious scholar, the man of the battlefields, the man of the seminaries, the beloved of the religious authorities, and the man of jihad and confrontations? How can we mourn the father, brother, friend, supporter, companion, thinker, genius, strong man, truthful man, steadfast man, the one who terrified the Jews and the arrogant, and the beloved of the oppressed and the mujahideen? How? Where can I find a language capable of encompassing all this record, presence, and splendor? Where can I find words capable of containing all the languages, the poems of heroism, the books of exalted honor, and the ethics of the heavenly messages? And now, let us ask again: Did Nasrallah die? You know that death, for the Master of the South, means that the resistance dies, and that the river of jihad, confronting the occupier, and confronting the arrogant runs dry. Has this happened?
