Repost from Rare books
Divine Proportion is a seminal book on mathematics and geometry written by the Italian Franciscan friar and mathematician Luca Pacioli around 1498 and first printed in Venice in 1509. Its primary focus is the Golden Ratio (φ ≈ 1.618) and its application in geometry, perspective, art, and architecture. Pacioli introduces the mathematical properties of the "Divine Proportion" from a mystical and theological viewpoint, arguing that it reflects the singular, infinite, and self-preserving nature of God. The work is highly famous for its 60 detailed illustrations of regular polyhedra and geometric solids drawn entirely by Leonardo da Vinci while he stayed with Pacioli in Milan. The text includes a famous section mapping out the geometric construction of classical Roman capital letters using perfect squares and circles.

The Necronomicon The Necronomicon is an ancient and forbidden book attributed to the poet Abdul Alhazred, known as the Mad Arab. It is said to contain knowledge of the Old Ones, beings that existed before humanity and whose return could reshape the world. Its pages describe forgotten cities, strange gods, occult rituals, forbidden stars, and gateways between dimensions. Among its most feared teachings are accounts of Cthulhu, Yog-Sothoth, Azathoth, and other entities beyond human understanding. According to legend, merely studying the book too deeply can destroy the reader's sanity, for it reveals that humanity is insignificant within a vast and indifferent cosmos.
“That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die.”

Deva Realm • The Ralm of the Gods It is the highest and most pleasurable of the Six Realms of Samsara. Devas experience immense beauty, pleasure, long lifespans, and extraordinary powers because of their accumulated good karma. However, they are not immortal or liberated—when their good karma is exhausted, they die and are reborn elsewhere. Their greatest spiritual danger is that their comfortable existence can make them complacent and distracted from seeking enlightenment. Thus, Buddhism teaches that even being a god is ultimately temporary; Nirvana lies beyond all six realms. #Buddhism

The Kappa. The Kappa is a famous creature from Japanese folklore, a mischievous and sometimes dangerous water-dwelling yokai. Usually depicted as a small, humanoid creature with greenish skin, a turtle-like shell, webbed hands and feet, a beak-like mouth, and a dish-shaped depression on its head that holds water. Kappa are said to inhabit rivers, ponds, and lakes, where they may challenge humans, pull people underwater, or play tricks on travelers. However, they can also behave honorably and even help people who treat them respectfully. Their greatest weakness is the water in the dish on their head—if it spills, the kappa becomes powerless. They are also famously fond of cucumbers, which are traditionally offered to appease them. One of their strangest characteristics is their obsession with sumo wrestling; a kappa may challenge a person to a match, but bowing deeply can cause the water on its head to spill. Looks like a Ninja turtle lol #Creatures #Kappas #Japan
