🇺🇸🇮🇷 Washington is preparing to take its economic war on Iran to a new level. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says the Trump administration will announce “unprecedented” measures against Iran next week — measures he claims have never been seen in the history of economic isolation. And this time, economic pressure comes alongside the US naval blockade of Iranian ports and restrictions around the Strait of Hormuz. Washington calls it “economic fury.” But the stakes go far beyond Iran. Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints. Any escalation around the strait could hit Iranian trade, global shipping and energy markets simultaneously. The real question now: Can maximum economic pressure force Tehran to compromise or will it push the region toward an even deeper confrontation? Source: TASS / Reuters #Iran #USA #Hormuz #Geopolitics

🇺🇸🇨🇳 Trump’s 100% Drone Tariffs Put China in the Crosshairs Washington has imposed tariffs of up to 100% on imported drones and key components, officially citing national security and US dependence on foreign suppliers. But the impact could fall heavily on Chinese drone makers, which dominate major segments of the global and US markets. Global Times notes that the steepest tariffs target larger and specialized drones, while selected US allies receive lower rates. France 24 reports that the new measures include 100% tariffs on certain large or sensitive drones, 25% on smaller drones, while products from the EU, Japan, South Korea and others can receive preferential rates. The bigger question: Can tariffs rebuild America’s drone industry or simply make drones more expensive while disrupting global supply chains?
