Question for the day !
How to answer this question? I’ll forward a newspaper article from the Hindu newspaper which is written by our former RBI governor Subbarao sir.
The article clearly talks about how ambition is important but it should have values driving it rather than other externalities!

February 12 - Darwin’s day
Nearly two decades ago a conversation in a bus travel about this man, if he had really said survival of the fittest is how we should live our lives, led me in search of answers to questions of life which eventually led me into upsc and to reading books!
And today to be able to read his original words and to be able to make sense of them really is a privilege! We sometimes do not understand how a small idea can take up our entire life!
And It amazes me as to how many books he quotes for his references and how many examples and how nuanced each example is in his detailing.
This book truly would survive till humanity exists in this earth or beyond!
Define competition commission of India
After which try to give a paragraph of how India has become a nation preferred for MNC post 1990’s liberalization.
Draw a graph of the FDI into India post 1990’s
Now that we have readied the introduction, we need to analyse points elaborating the question. But do not just write points rather give analysis(I’ll give few )
1)Prevention of unethical marketing to protect consumers - eg CCI has fined many UPSC coaching institutes all across India for marketing with the names of students who had not studied in their institutes.(Although they do not come under the strict definition of MNC, we can make use of them)
2)Prevention of Monopolisation - Eg of how Watsapp policy of sharing consumer data across other meta platforms was fined by cci
So like this we need to explain more points after which,
Problems-why cci is unable to bring total compliance,
-collusion
-moral decay
-less penal provisions
-lack of human resource for investigation
Conclude with way forward!

Topic - Fiscal deficit;Revenue deficit
Recent issue of Tamil Nadu government depositing 5000 rupees for women beneficiaries should be read with the following concept in economics.
Before that we should know that there are two types of expenditure-
Revenue expenditure
And
Capital expenditure
So where should we place the 5000 rupees per women beneficiary?
It is under the head of “revenue expenditure”.why?
Because any expenditure under the capital account - creates an asset and would have a return for the expenditure in the future.
So a subsidy in terms of giving money in each bank account will not create an asset and hence categoried as revenue expenditure.
But can we look at this from the perspective of investment in Human Resources in a state or our country and the asset of Human Resources will repay in terms of the future increased tax collection?
Consider analysis of an issue in an Essay or upsc interview or Gs3(inclusive growth) or welfare state(political science)
What is love?
Is it really true that love exists? Or is it just a biochemical chemistry in your brain? This question kept arising at each stage of my life. It’s not easy to answer this question.
The meaning of love as I have seen, keeps evolving, from the days of teenage years of obsession to the present understanding of its significance,it has taken up many different forms.
There were days of longing, or emotions filled with never ending dreams because of love and there were also days of never ending sadness beyond redemption because of love but what ever we go through in life it goes through the lens of love towards someone.
We belong to a species which has an highly ego centric outlook towards life, that is we see this life only through our own lives. Picturing it through someone else eyes is impossible or even if it’s possible we might not do it.
But strangely we need other people around us bonded through love. And we collect these people through these bonds of love and we keep doing this all through our lives. The faces of the people we love is where we keep finding meaning in our everyday existence.
It’s paradoxical to think how much an animal which is ego centric to the core gets dependent on the bonds of love over someone else.
And some of these broken bonds can leave a scar that can change us forever. Every action we may take in the future seeps through the pain oozing from these scars but there is a quote from Neitzche which I love the most where he says,”what doesn’t kill you , makes you stronger”!
And After all these years I have understood that love does exist, but it’s not just the romantic obsession shown in movies. It exists in the most fundamental of things,
It exists in the words of that stranger who sits with you in silence watching the shores of the waves when you are sitting there not knowing what you will do next in life!
It exists in that train journey which whispers in silence in your ears that tomorrow it will be fine while those tears of losing someone keeps following you!
It exists in the silent words of a teacher who listens to you in silence while you talk about the days of your fears and dreams!
It exists in that friend who comes and sits with you in silence when you lose someone dear!
It exists in that dog which comes and sits with you in silence when you have failed in life!
It exists in your parents who come and sit with you in silence when you lose your path in life!
It exists with your passion in life which resides in your heart in silence even when you have lost the chance to attain it forever!
It exists in that girl who sits with you in silence when it feels that it is the end of this world!
Love,It cannot just be a biochemical reaction rather it transcends every thing that we know of this world.
Existence in itself is a magic and to be able to sit and enjoy in silence the view along this revolving world cruising through an infinite space of this galaxy trudging along an unknown distant path rowing through the stars and the moons of this universe along with your loved ones is the fundamental meaning of this existence!
Have a happy Valentine’s Day with your loved ones!

Case study for GS 2 and GS 4 through MoA!
Recently the CCI(Competition commission of India) passed an order against the Watsapp platform?
What was the issue?
Watsapp wanted users to accept its privacy policy of sharing user details with other meta platforms like instagram and Facebook or it wanted connect the three platforms.
But this creates undue advantage to the company and hence the CCI fined Meta.
Topics like these should be noted down from newspaper to get good scores in GS4 and this can also be used under GS2 for regulatory bodies!
Keep reading newspaper!

📌 Racial Elements in India – What Genomic Studies Tell Us?
1️⃣ Modern humans (Homo sapiens) evolved in Africa about 200,000 years ago.
2️⃣ From Africa, small groups migrated outward. One major wave reached India around 60–70 thousand years ago.
3️⃣ To understand who these early people were, researchers (including the Anthropological Survey of India) studied mtDNA – genetic material passed from mother to child.
4️⃣ The earliest settlers of this migration are believed to be represented today by groups like the Jarawa and other Andaman Islanders.
👉 Because they lived in geographical isolation, many of their physical and genetic traits remained preserved.
👉 Their arrival in the islands is estimated at ~45,000 years ago.
5️⃣ On the Indian mainland, descendants of early settlers are traced among many tribal populations of South India, East India, and among Dravidian and Austro-Asiatic language speakers of central India.
👉 This is supported by the presence of mtDNA lineage M2.
6️⃣ Another lineage, M42, shows a genetic connection between India and Australia.
👉 This supports the idea that humans moved Out of Africa → through South Asia → towards Australia.
7️⃣ Many Indian populations belong to very old branches of macro-haplogroup ‘M’.
👉 After entering India, these groups diversified locally (in-situ evolution).
👉 Present ethnic and linguistic groups still carry these deep genetic signatures.
