In this Frans de wal writes that the chimpanzee in this video was the matriarch(female) or the alpha male of the band she was heading.
Frans de wal was the person who popularized this concept of "alpha male" in the 1990s
And this was subsequently popularised by many magazines , videos and scientists like Steven pinker and now YouTube channels have popularised this idea of "alpha male"
But Frans de wal gives the example of this chimapazee to tell us the fact that he never meant "alpha male" are someone who can be rude or get things done which every way
In this book he suggest that "alpha male" is someone who can -coordinate different bands together
-Solve disputes amicably
-redistribute resources
-more so he or she is a leader with compassion
- and most often in the chimpanzee band it is a female
