| 4 | My girlfriend brought me ULTRAKILL for me to play. Is it okay if I start on HARMLESS or on LENIENT?
To be perfectly honest, I have NEVER played a proper FPS before. The last FPS I played was Far Cry 3 and 4 when I was a pre-teen. After that, I branched off to play Beat 'Em Ups, Soulslikes, Character Action (like DMC3), Metroidvanias... But I never played a FPS seriously. I didn't like COD, I didn't like Overwatch, I didn't like Valorant, none of these interested me.
However, I have friends on a server who are rabid fans of this game and say all types of good stuff about it. They told me: "You like good lore? You like good soundtracks? Then you'll love ULTRAKILL". Which culminated in my girlfriend gifting me this game after I expressed interest in giving it a try.
Now, I will get this out of the way: I truly wish to engage with this game and its themes. However, I admit I am not having that much fun with the Demo. I managed to S rank one of the levels, but after turning off the PC it felt like my head was killing me and I slept terribly after playing. It wasn't a very nice feeling, it just felt like I was hyperventilating all the time and I couldn't sit still.
So... I wonder if I can engage with this game in a more "friendly" way first. Start on the lower difficulties, put music on maximum while keeping sound effects on 50% and dialogue on 70%, appreciate the atmosphere, the maps, the boss fights— Just get the hang of the FPS shit. And if I enjoy the game enough, I may choose to complete it again on higher difficulties.
That's what I did with DMC3. Kept coming back with both Dante and Vergil and completed almost every single difficulty... except for Dante Must Die. I'm not masochist enough to try it.
I just hope this fanbase isn't like the Fromsoftware games fanbase with all their casul jokes.

its a cool level with open area and it is fun (maybe except random projectiles killing you out of nowhere) but p-rank style requirement is just bullshit, it is literally only level where you have to really try to get the style points which would be ok if it wasnt for random deaths and like having to do 40 attempts to get the p-rank. what i mean to say is that i have skill issue but p-ranking minos is easy in comparision (it took me 5 attempts) to this which shouldnt really be the case (coughing baby vs nuclear bomb ahh matchup). i feel like this open area is similar to 8-3, tho imo 8-3 is like the best level in the game and somehow it doesnt feel luck based and boring like 4-3. anyway its my skill issue and i will probably p-rank this level tomorrow, idk why you spent like 3 minutes of your time reading this.

maybe 8-3 isnt the best level but its like one of the best, anyway what i meant is level design in 4-3 is just yellow ground with yellow roof with yellow stairs and some big abyss inbetween. thats like the whole level. 4-3 is unreasonably boring and hard. 4-2 is also yellow but its not boring so i think its not about level being yellow idk.

| 17 | Whats up with this sigil and weird symbol at the end of 8-3?
ive seen zero people discuss this even though it has those alchemy symbols from the three skulls on it, havent seen any discussion for the second pic either (it prob means nothing but i thought it looked interesting and i wanna see if anyones got some theories on wut it is just incase). its also interesting how the blood tree from 7-3 is back and present ontop of the sigil, i was definitely surprised to see it again as i thought that was just a one time thing. anyone know the lore implications of all of this? *_*
