if you are still hating on georgia and georgian people for being “racist” or whatever you call it, please read some history and contemporary books about what has been going on here. it is absolutely not okay to come to Georgia, Armenia or Uzbekistan, and say “Здравствуйте” wherever and whenever you want. It takes minutes to learn some Uzbek or Georgian greetings. This is how you show respect to the local culture, language, and people. Colonization in all of those countries killed thousands of people and destroyed precious resources we had. I’m not even talking about modern colonialism now. Also, we have to start showing that love and respect from ourselves. Whenever at fancy restaurants in Tashkent, I am so pissed I am welcomed with Добро пожаловать or Здравствуйте 😭

i am so pissed every time i see posts like this. this is such as dumb, imperialist view to have. people have zero clue about decades of colonialism in central asia, including cultural eradication, exploitation of natural resources, and xenophobia. then come to central asia to just say “oh, i didn’t know it’s so developed, i thought u r still riding donkeys 😄” or “yeah, yall are so poor, nothing to do here” both are disgusting things to say btw.

Received an award from the President of Kazakhstan for an outstanding AI project. - Kamilla Sobirkhonova - Oxford '30 (Social Sciences & Humanities) Completed an Extended Qualification Project (EPQ), a UK-based Level 3 research qualification, with a dissertation on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. - Mahmud Khamraev - USF '30 (Humanities) Research published in the Journal of Novel Research in Sciences. Co-authored a civic education paper with a UPenn professor. - Amrit Vignesh - Princeton '28 (Data science) Author of multiple research papers. Published in the Wharton Journal of Sports Analytics. - Aurelius Vasikhanov - Emory '30 (STEM) Pioneer Research alumnus & Global Problem-Solving Scholar. Wrote a 71-page research paper & 24-page project tackling complex real-world challenges - Ayazhan Karabek - Rice '29 (Computer Science) An upcoming sophomore at Rice University, a Rise Global Winner, and a researcher with rich experience through RSI at MIT and Pioneer Academics.

it might be a hot take for some people, but dubai doesn’t deserve all the hate it gets for being “artificial” or “soulless” i have seen the prettiest sunsets, met the nicest people, and eaten the tastiest food here. despite being so young, this city has so much to offer. i’m sure it’ll get better and better in the future, but even now, it’s a great place to live no city is flawless and we choose what sacrifices to make based on our priorities
