Wanshū (ワンシュー, also 汪輯) The name Wanshū (汪輯) means "Wang's Series (or Form)" and refers to the diplomat Wang (1621 – 1689). Wang was the leader of a large ambassadorial mission from China, sent by the Qing government in 1683 to the village of Tomari. The Wanshū kata was either created by Wang or composed by his students and named in tribute to him. There are two major versions of Wanshū kata: one taught by Master Ankō Itosu and one practiced and introduced in the Tomari region. The Wanshū kata shown in this video is considered an Itosu-kei kata, meaning it was either created or primarily passed down by Ankō Itosu, although its origins are in Tomari-te. Shitoryu Karate Renzoku Kihon Practice Chūdan Zuki from Zenkutsu Dachi. Step forward into Hachiji Dachi, then switch sides and repeat the same movement. During the whole movement, keep both feet flat on the floor. Do not lift the heel. Do not let the foot disconnect from the floor, especially when finishing the kime on Gedan Barai and Chūdan Zuki in Hachiji Dachi. Keep the heel down. Keep the feet stable.
