Many people underestimate the power of small beginnings.
A small savings habit. A small investment. A small side hustle. A small improvement in how you manage money. Consistent actions, no matter how small they seem today, can compound into significant results over time.
Don't wait until you have millions to start building wealth. Start with what you have.
Because financial growth is often less about the size of your beginning and more about the consistency of your journey.
The Nairametrics Capital Market Awards truly celebrate the commitment behind sustaining corporate excellence and financial resilience in an ever-evolving economic landscape.
Thank you to everyone who voted and supported.
NISO disowns ‘Nigeria National Grid’ X account, cautions public against misinformation
The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) has distanced itself from an unauthorised social media account on X, formerly Twitter, operating under the name “Nigeria National Grid.”
In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, the system operator warned the public, media organisations, and stakeholders against relying on information disseminated through the account, describing its contents as misleading and unauthorised.
NISO said the move was necessary to protect the integrity of its communications and ensure that the public receives accurate information about the operations of Nigeria’s national electricity grid.

“MTN isn’t just a stock… it’s Nigeria’s entire economy in one company.”
And that’s exactly why some investors believe it’s grossly undervalued. MTN is in the hands of 70% of Nigerians, That’s potentially 160 million users.
So, when you invest in MTN you’re not just buying a telecom company, you’re betting on Nigeria’s growth story itself

World Environment Day: Green Tax sparks debate ahead of July 1 rollout
As the world commemorates World Environment Day 2026, Nigeria’s planned implementation of a new Green Tax on motor vehicles has generated widespread debate among environmental advocates, economists, automobile operators, and consumers.
The Green Tax, scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2026, is part of the Federal Government’s tax reform programme aimed at aligning fiscal policy with environmental objectives while expanding government revenue.
While supporters view the levy as a necessary step toward promoting cleaner transportation and reducing emissions, critics argue that the policy could impose additional costs on citizens without providing sufficient alternatives for cleaner mobility.

FG’s survey shows 83.4% of Nigerians want social media restriction for children
A survey by the Ministry of Communications, innovation, and Digital Economy, has revealed that 83.4% of Nigerians support social media restriction to protect children.
Findings of the survey were presented on Thursday in Lagos during a roundtable discussion on the Safety and Protection of Children Online, organized by the Ministry in collaboration with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
The survey follows recent announcement by the Ministry of plans to introduce age restrictions for social media use in Nigeria as part of efforts to strengthen online safety for children.
The government, however, said whatever form of regulation or law that would be put in place would be decided by Nigerians after a nationwide consultation.
