According to Enbridge, a parked and unoccupied semi-truck rolled into an excavation site on the Enbridge Line 5 pipeline in Iron County, Wisconsin, triggering a massive natural gas leak and forcing a shutdown of Line 5. Line 5 is a critical energy highway for Southern Ontario, supplying over 500,000 barrels of crude and natural gas liquids every single day. Enbridge had been working to reroute the pipeline that serves Ontario and Quebec with light crude oil and natural gas liquids off of the Bad River Reservation.
