In Western countries we have heard “cat lady,” “damaged goods,” “spinster,” “old maid,” and all the jokes about women dying alone with their pets. Nobody thinks the West is some feminist paradise, because there is no shortage of sexist and misogynistic men here who have been abusive toward women in every possible way. But at least in the West this shit does not go without a fight. Feminist groups, activists, and organizations speak against it every day, and even though it is far from enough, at least these voices exist and are out there in public. But in Asian countries, the sexist mindset is so open and out of control that it is almost unbelievable how normal all of it is. And China, one of the most economically developed countries in the world, has taken this to a lvl most ppl won’t believe if they hadn’t seen it with their own eyes
