Dear the Light Blue Army of 112,000 CHPs,
If you missed this week's CHP Assembly webinar on your role in Immunization in Kenya kindly watch the recording here ukiingia WIFI zone or ukibuy bundles zako safi. - https://www.youtube.com/live/SeuF1KAfgH8?si=JZk80BPQtBBM_mme
It is the most viewed or watched AMREF Health in Kenya YouTube channel in the last 2 months. - Watch you learn too
You can watch with your fellow CHP(s) too.
Your view there means so much. - Data doesn't lie
Usiseme sikukuambia. ✍🏿
Wako katika Huduma za Afya ya Jamii.🎯
SMMTC Mumias trains CHAs too.🎯
It seems by the number of graduates joining the labour market CHAs & CHOs course is the 2nd biggest health course after Nursing.
CHAs scavenge more too.
For every 1 PHO graduating annually, 5 CHAs graduate and 7 Nurses graduate.
After 40 years of CHOs training we can say the CHOs course has peaked.
We have more CHOs jobs than before.
For the first time KMTC has advertised for CHOs Lecturers.
Some counties now hire CHAs every year.
CHOs are registered by KHPOA.
2025 CHOs held a scientific conference under CHESOA & ACHVOK.
We are in the best ever CHOs era.
AMIU started as a training center 9 years ago for Community Health workers and has now grown into a premium health science University.
In 1987 we had Diploma in Community Health graduates from AITC, now AMIU.
So the first home of CHAs / CHOs is AMREF.
TICH of 1999 was inspired by UON+, which later birthed GLUK.
Even in 2009 JKUAT and MKU were training CHOs.
KMTC only came to the party in 2019.
So CHOs aren't new. - They have been here for 40 years
When they tell you the CHOs course is new most likely hawajui mtaa.
CHOs have only lacked a union and a regulator because they prefer it that way.
Many PHOs, RCOs and Doctors have additional qualifications in Certificate or Diploma or HND or BSc or Masters in Community Health.

2.2 PHOs are key in EHS, FS/FQC, SHS, CHS, WASH, BMH, SWM, and OHS. - Kuwakumbusha tu🎯
Congratulations Trans Nzoia CHPs as you plan to launch your SACCO tomorrow.👏🏿
Even Kakamega CHPs have a SACCO.
Doctors have KMA SACCO.
COs have Clinicians SACCO.
Afya SACCO died.
Sasa nangoja CHAs SACCO.
CHS ndio inakula.🎯

Accurate community health data is the foundation of informed decision making and stronger healthcare systems. Today, we commenced a three day Community Health Assessment Data Verification exercise in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County, to validate community health data and strengthen planning for better health services.
The exercise brings together Community Health Promoters from across the county to verify data, identify service delivery gaps and improve primary healthcare.
So far, Community Health Promoters in Ol Kalou have registered 18,920 households on the electronic Community Health Information System (eCHIS), revisited more than 85 percent of them for routine health services, conducted thousands of diabetes and hypertension screenings, and supported maternal and child health through timely referrals and assessments.
Over the next three days, we will engage communities across the five wards of Ol Kalou Constituency as we strengthen community health services. Plans are also underway to roll out this exercise in other parts of the country.

The most common reasons for eCHIS redblink observed on ground - Red flagged "Missing Client Details"
1. Household member names entered with trailing spaces after the name. - (Very common) or double space after first name or after second name and vice versa
2. Incorrect arrangement or order of names. - Should match the national Id or birth certificate
3. Incomplete names where individuals with three names have only one or two names captured.
4. Incorrect or incomplete birth certificate details.
5. Use of birth certificate serial number instead of birth certificate entry number that was captured on SHA for dependents.
6. The household member has never been registered with SHA. - Can be confirmed with eligibility.sha.go.ke
7. Incorrect spellings for household member names .
8. Incorrect ID numbers entered.

I can finally admit Unemployment imepanga Nurses.
From Babu on TikTok to Sakin on TikTok that is the story.
Sad when Nursing is still the health course / profession employing the most numbers.
Huku kwetu KMTC CHAs wameshindwa kupanga hata demo about their unemployment. - Na wakapeana an excuse even a villager wouldn't buy 😃
In December 2026 KMTC might just hit 10,000+ total CHAs + CHOs graduates. - It will nice to do that labour market analysis
PHOIs are still unpaid. - KEHPHPU should fight walipwe
Luckily we can now hear about Nurse Volunteers. - The last I heard that was from a Rift county Nurse
For us unfortunately some PHOs volunteer for more than 10 years.
Wanjagi was saying CHAs should be allowed to volunteer.
Sakin has explained the story of volunteering health professionals better.
I would love to hear from yPHOs or yCHOs who have graduated since 2021.
Ni kaa ni mbaya.🥲

Thanks NVIP for sharing this 2 days before the CHP Assembly webinar on CHPs Role on Immunization in Kenya.
Mercy Ziro, a Misufini CHP, is part of the 112,000 CHPs serving their villages in the spirit of afya yetu, jukumu yetu.
Mercy has been a CHP for 11 years.
Mercy, a parent of 2 children, takes health talks on immunization to the community and ensures children or pregnant women are immunised or protected.
She follows up children at homes till they reach 5 years.
That is the story of Mercy.
This coming Monday you have an opportunity as a CHP or CHA or CHS Coordinator to learn that and more for join this conversation online at 5 PM on https://amref.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_yGHNS5gyRa-1t9A1ojkpNw .
Co-hosted by DCHS and AMREF Health in Kenya.
Under the patron PS Public Health Mary Muthoni.

KMTC CHAs are planning a demo about their unemployment.😃
Previously they held an unemployment webinar.
KMTC has been producing CHAs for the last 5 years.
Na niliwawuon wakanipuuza na kuniingilia.
KMTC continues to admit thousands of CHAs annually.
Those CHAs are later forced to upgrade. - Hapo KMTC wanakula dabo dabo
Infact KMTC CHAs graduation numbers are yet to peak.
Nangoja I share their demos messages.
Will they get heard?
Will they get employed by doing a demo?
What happens when KMTC makes good revenue by producing CHAs when it's 7,200 graduates are 90% jobless and 50% of it's campuses are admitting CHAs?
