🏘 San Francisco homes are being sold for OpenAI shares Some home sellers in San Francisco are accepting OpenAI and Anthropic shares instead of cash, even though neither company is publicly traded. One $2.995 million home attracted an offer from an OpenAI employee for more than $1 million above the asking price, while another seller offered a $500,000 discount if the buyer paid in Anthropic stock. ⠀ The rush is driven by expectations that future IPOs could create more than 16,000 millionaires in the Bay Area. This year, 144 homes sold for at least $1 million over asking, compared with just 8 during the first half of 2025. Homes priced above $10 million have doubled, while inventory has fallen to fewer than 600 listings. ⠀ Private company shares are increasingly being treated like cash, even before the market has determined what they're actually worth. ✔️ @venture

💼 Investing isn't just about picking the right stocks One of the biggest mistakes investors make is keeping the same portfolio for decades. Your financial goals, income, and ability to recover from market downturns all change over time, and your asset allocation should change with them. In your 20s and 30s, time is your biggest advantage, so many investors focus more on growth. As retirement gets closer, preserving capital and reducing volatility often become just as important as maximizing returns. ⠀ There is no perfect portfolio for every age or every investor. Risk tolerance, income, and financial goals matter as much as your birth year. ⠀ The best portfolio is one that matches both your timeline and your ability to stay invested when markets become volatile. ✔️ @venture

🛍 Bill Gates' daughter's app is accused of taking credit for other people's sales Phia, the shopping app co-founded by Phoebe Gates, allegedly inserted its own affiliate tracking code during checkout, allowing it to collect commissions even when it didn't bring the customer. A Bloomberg investigation found the behavior across more than 50 retailers, including Walmart, Nike, and Zara. Impact.com has suspended Phia's account and is reviewing past transactions. ⠀ Phia says it was a software bug that was fixed within a day after being reported. ⠀ The case closely mirrors the allegations that PayPal's Honey faced last year. ✔️ @venture

💼 Why the monthly jobs report doesn't tell the full story The monthly U.S. jobs report often moves markets within minutes. But the headline number doesn't always reflect the true health of the labor market. A payroll "job" can be a full-time position, part-time work, or a temporary contract. The report counts jobs, not the quality, stability, or income they provide. ⠀ That means strong job growth doesn't necessarily mean workers are better off. More people may be taking multiple jobs, switching employers frequently, or relying on temporary work instead of permanent employment. ⠀ For investors, the takeaway is simple: the headline payroll figure is important, but understanding what kind of jobs are being created matters just as much. ✔️ @venture

❕ Big Tech Drives Record $182 Billion Bond Issuance in 2026 Amazon, Alphabet, Nvidia, Meta, Oracle, and SpaceX have issued a record $182 billion in investment-grade bonds this year, a 1,300% jump from $13 billion last year. These six firms now account for nearly 15% of total US corporate bond issuance year-to-date and over 50% of this year's market growth. A record 7 bond deals of $25 billion+ have occurred, matching the total from 2019 to last year. Six are from these Big Tech firms, one from Salesforce. ✔️ @venture

🇨🇳 China is reopening the door to Nvidia, but on its own terms China is reportedly preparing to let more leading AI companies buy a limited number of Nvidia H200 chips, expanding a controlled reopening that began earlier this year. The strategy is clear: use Nvidia's chips for frontier AI training while accelerating adoption of domestic processors like Huawei's Ascend for inference workloads. ⠀ After U.S. export restrictions blocked Nvidia's most advanced chips, the company launched the export-compliant H20, which generated $4.6 billion in quarterly sales before facing tighter restrictions. Nvidia later took a $4.5 billion inventory charge and warned of an $8 billion revenue hit after losing access to much of China's AI market. ⠀ Earlier this year, ByteDance, Alibaba, and Tencent were approved to purchase more than 400,000 H200 chips, but only alongside domestic alternatives. ⠀ The long-term trend remains unchanged. China is using every reopening to secure the AI chips it still needs while investing billions to reduce its dependence on U.S. technology. ✔️ @venture

💰 Goldman Sachs maps where $7.6 trillion in AI spending is going Goldman Sachs expects AI capital spending to reach $765 billion in 2026 and grow to $1.6 trillion annually by 2031, totaling $7.6 trillion over six years. The breakdown is $5.1T for compute, $2.1T for data centers, and $358B for power. ⠀ The report assumes Nvidia captures 75% of compute spending, making it the biggest direct beneficiary of the AI buildout. At the same time, AI data centers are becoming far more demanding, with rack power rising from 5-15 kW in traditional facilities to 500+ kW in next-generation AI factories. ⠀ That shift also benefits infrastructure companies. Vertiv is positioned around liquid cooling and power systems, while Vistra stands to gain from rising demand for long-term nuclear power contracts needed to support AI data centers. ⠀ Goldman's conclusion is straightforward: chips, data centers, and power are the three layers every AI deployment depends on, and capital is flowing into all of them simultaneously. ✔️ @venture

📉 Michael Burry is betting against the AI boom Michael Burry, best known for predicting the 2008 financial crisis, has reportedly taken short positions against Nvidia, Tesla, Caterpillar, and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index, betting on a 30-40% market decline by March 2027. His argument is that the companies funding the AI buildout, including Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Meta, have significantly underperformed the chipmakers supplying them. In his view, AI infrastructure spending is benefiting suppliers more than the companies paying for it. ⠀ Burry also points to stretched valuations. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index is trading about 65% above its 200-day moving average, a level last seen during the dot-com bubble. Semiconductor stocks now trade at roughly 30x forward earnings, near the top of their 15-year valuation range. ⠀ He also argues that AI pricing power is weakening and claims hyperscalers are understating depreciation costs, which could eventually weigh on future earnings. ⠀ Burry's conclusion is clear: he believes the AI trade has become the biggest bubble in the market. ✔️ @venture

🚀 U.S. lawmakers start buying SpaceX shares after its IPO Just days after SpaceX's $2 trillion IPO, members of Congress and their families began buying the stock. Rep. Gil Cisneros purchased between $1,001 and $15,000 of SpaceX shares on June 18. Three days earlier, a child of Rep. Dan Meuser bought $15,001 to $50,000 worth of shares. Both transactions were disclosed under the STOCK Act. ⠀ The purchases have drawn attention because both lawmakers serve on committees that oversee areas important to SpaceX. Cisneros sits on the House Armed Services Committee, while Meuser chairs a subcommittee of the House Financial Services Committee. ⠀ In 2025, SpaceX generated $3.6 billion from U.S. government contracts, about 20% of its $18.7 billion in revenue. ⠀ Ethics experts expect these disclosures may be just the beginning, with more congressional purchases likely to appear in the coming weeks. ✔️ @venture

❕Apple's memory supplier won't change the AI memory race Reports that Apple could buy memory chips from CXMT have sparked concerns about the memory industry. But the part of the market driving AI is a different business altogether. CXMT produces standard DRAM used in consumer devices like smartphones and laptops. AI servers rely on High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM), a far more advanced technology that is stacked directly with AI chips and requires years of joint development with customers. ⠀ Only Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron currently manufacture HBM at scale. While they are already shipping HBM3E, CXMT is still working toward certifying the older HBM3 standard and has yet to supply HBM to major Western AI companies. ⠀ Even if Apple eventually buys more commodity memory from CXMT, it would affect the consumer DRAM market rather than the AI infrastructure market that currently drives memory valuations. ⠀ The AI memory race is being decided by HBM, not by the chips inside smartphones and laptops. ✔️ @venture
