Today is a day of military history, sacrifice, and reflection. 🇺🇸​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ It marks the 82nd anniversary of D-Day where troops stormed the beaches of Normandy. My Daddy never speaks of war that much. He lost his father and never knew him. He joined the Army very young, serving tours in Vietnam and returned home to Savannah, joining the United States Coast Guard reserve unit. His tenure was well beyond what I will ever recall as his service reigned a total of 39 years. I recall his time at Gulfstream being placed on a military leave after 9/11, due to being reactive to full-service duty. He was much older then. I’ve always prided my Daddy on his invaluable work ethic serving both the United States Military and an outstanding career of 50 years at Gulfstream. Consecutively…his tenure was a 50 year career at General Dynamics and a 39 year career with the United States Military. Of all the years, all the sacrifices, all the questions and curiosity I had….it was not until this morning…as we sat and had breakfast, he finally spoke of his return from Vietnam. I sat, I listened intensely, only to hear as my Daddy returned, he was spit on and ridiculed for his service. There was more….but I share this with you all to remind you that our Veterans and our Service Members are the best of the best! While we are a grateful nation, we truly have no idea what they are going through, what they have been through, what they have given up, or what their family has sacrificed as well. While my Daddy has prevailed and been a steadfast warrior for myself, our family, and contributed endless hours to our community….there are so many others who need us! Let us never forget them! Always remember to thank them! And if you can, as I always do, pay for their meal and be sure to approach them and tell them thank you!!! Today, we remember those fearless warriors who stood in the gap and sacrificed it all!!! Be the one who stands in the gap!🇺🇸 Never forget those who have gone before us!!!

I am pleased to see the Burt Jones family taking decisive legal action against the egregious and sustained campaign of defamation they have endured for far too long. This family has been subjected to a highly orchestrated and coordinated effort not only to spread falsehoods but to smear the reputations of the entire family, their longstanding business, and their tireless public service. These attacks were evidently designed to undermine a leading conservative political candidate and frontrunner for the people of Georgia, while simultaneously seeking to dismantle the family legacy and the American dream they have built through hard work and integrity. Rick Jackson and his campaign have relentlessly disseminated baseless accusations—ranging from claims that the Jones family has taken people’s property and operated drug cartels to assertions that they intended to transform Georgia into a gambling mecca akin to Las Vegas—among a litany of other fabrications. I commend Mr. Jones and the Jones family for standing firm and fighting back. 🚨RECOUNT ORDERED: Important Election Update for Georgia Voters & County Officials 🚨 The Georgia Secretary of State’s Office has officially ordered a recount in the Republican PSC District 3 General Primary. Candidate Brandon Martin requested the recount, and because the margin of victory was less than one-half of one percent, it is being conducted pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-495(c)(1). With advance voting already underway for the June 16th General Primary and Nonpartisan General Election runoffs, counties are strongly encouraged to begin the recount as soon as possible after certifying the runoffs.
