“Once you start taking on adult responsibilities in life, things start to get really complex really fast. As life becomes more complex, what we really need is wisdom. But not just any wisdom. We need God’s wisdom… How can we stay plugged in to God’s wisdom and not the world’s wisdom?

Are you the entrepreneur who has built for years without visible results? Or the employee who feels unseen despite putting in faithful effort? Modern culture teaches us to measure worth through visible productivity. If results are absent, we assume we have failed. But God may have a far greater purpose for your season of "barrenness".

Every afternoon while in primary school, Yvonne Lee would watch her friend climb onto the back of her father's motorcycle and wrap her arms around him for the ride home.
"How nice it would be to have a father," thought young Yvonne, whose father died when she was six years old.
At church, she learned that God is her Father. But it only remained as head knowledge. What did that really mean when her earthly father was gone?
Over the years, God would answer that question.

“Their togetherness shows us what it means to be of one heart. In Daniel 1, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego and Daniel made a shared decision not to defile themselves with the King’s food. It was this unity that enabled them to stand firm in a culture full of pressure.”

“The Bible reminds us in Psalm 33:11, ‘The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.’ Not just one generation – all generations. This means our children are not an afterthought. They are part of God’s divine plan. Throughout Scripture, we see a powerful truth: God works through generations together.”

“Children are a blessing from God. Yet in today’s world, children can easily become projects – their grades, success, and future become measures of our parenting. But Scripture reframes this: Children are not trophies of our success, but gifts entrusted to us by God.”

Known to many today for her role in Lion Mums and her award-winning performance in Last Madame, Lina Ng first shot to fame in 1993 after finishing as the first runner-up in Mediacorp's Star Search.
In the decade that followed, she rose to become one of Singapore's most recognised actresses and television hosts – until her career came to an abrupt halt when she was not offered a new contract.
For the next 13 years, she walked through what she calls her "wilderness" season, where she wrestled with her identity, finances and obscurity.
Yet it was in those hidden years that God reshaped her heart and revealed to her a purpose far greater than fame.

“Whether we realise it or not, every one of us can help shape the next generation. Some as parents, some as spiritual parents, Sunday school teachers or members of the church. Every one of us has a part to play.
“Today, we’re going to look into Psalm 127:3-5, from which we can glean three truths for all of us – as parents, as a church and as people shaping the next generation.”

“Some see the call to have children as a mandate. And there is a very strong theological case for that. Others see it more as a blessing. But whichever way we frame it, when we look through the Father’s lens, we see that His design for marriage points towards fruitfulness and children. And if that is so, the deeper question is: What is shaping our hearts?”

40.DAY 2026 • DAY 23
“The Genesis 1:28 mandate to ‘be fruitful and multiply’ does not simply give us a task and responsibility to fulfil. Rather, it frames human life with a purpose greater than self-preservation. From the very start, man existed for the welfare of another, and to perpetuate that existence.
“This was God’s plan all along, but … we do not want our freedom curbed nor to be told how to live our lives. Our flesh rejects any mandate, divine or otherwise.
“At the heart of this awkwardness lies two foundational issues.”
