When Pastor Jonathan Suppaya's legs started to swell after preaching, he did not expect things to be so serious. But scans revealed that he was dying. It was Stage 4 kidney failure and he had only six months to live.
It was then that his 24-year-old son Johnson stepped up and, despite his fear of needles and his father's refusal, offered to donate his kidney.
After weeks of tests, unexpected infections and delays, Ps Jonathan finally received "the greatest gift" from his son, and experienced the kind of love from God that gives.

He wanted to be a Pastor, but God led him to care for the elderly instead.
In his first weeks on the job at St Luke's ElderCare, Ng Zhong De wanted to quit, put off by the need to clean up after elders who had soiled themselves. "At 27 years old, my thought was, ‘I don’t want to clean backsides.’”

In 2020, Kok Peng was diagnosed with ALS, a fatal motor neuron disorder. He was only 36. As he lost his ability to walk, talk, eat and, eventually, breathe, his wife Wanqi became his primary caregiver. The strain was almost too much for their eight-year-old marriage. Launched last November, the Caleb Generation seeks not only to help seniors live fruitful lives in their golden years, but also empower them to be a blessing to others and the next generation.
"In the secular world, after you retire, you rest and relax. But there is no retiring in the Kingdom of God,” said Jason Wong, one of the movement's co-founders.
"When I hear that people are retiring in secular work, I should get excited. We can gather them to do God’s work.”

60 is an age that many Singaporeans begin to "scale down" work and commitments. But not for Rev Dr Arthur Chern. The 61-year-old has a dual vocation: He is Group CEO of SAMH (St Andrew's Mission Hospital) and SACS (St Andrew's Community Services), as well as an ordained Anglican minister in St Andrew's Cathedral.
Under his leadership, SAMH and SACS went from financial deficit and an uncertain future in 2012 to becoming one of Singapore's largest operators in the eldercare and community service sectors, with 10 service centres and 46 sites, employing 3,000 people.
“If you are sensitive to where the Holy Spirit leads you, He will empower you to do the work,” he said.

Vivian Goh, 46, has barely left her three-room flat in Bedok since she was 19.
She suffers from type 2 Spinal Muscular Atropy (SMA), a condition characterised by progressive muscle weakness. She is tube-fed daily, and relies on a machine to breathe.
Her faith in God helps her to see the many ways He has been with her through the years, and understand that the greatest work she can do for Him, is perhaps, done from the very bed that she is bound to.

In 2019, Galvin Sng went on a keto diet to lose weight for health, "but I was craving ice cream and all the existing keto recipes didn’t suit my taste.”
When COVID forced everyone to stay home, Galvin decide to create his own keto-friendly ice cream. Out of that came Ketojiak, an ice cream shop that specialises in diabetic, keto and celiac friendly ice creams and waffles.
