Units from the Military Engineering Department of Syria's Defense Ministry have begun a comprehensive field survey along the planned Damascus–Deir Ezzor highway route, following an official request from the Transport Ministry to secure the area ahead of construction. The survey is a preparatory step for the road project on one of Syria's main routes linking the capital with the eastern provinces, which was the scene of a deadly bus collision near al-Sukhnah in July 2026, in which at least 35 people were killed and around 30 injured.

📌 Mazloum Abdi, adviser to the Syrian president and former commander of the Kurdish-led SDF, said Kurdish participation in state institutions is essential to Syria’s stability. 📌 He said the integration of civil and military institutions in the northeast is continuing, particularly in education and security. 📌 According to Abdi, attempts to obstruct integration have failed, and the understandings reached between the relevant committees must be preserved and outstanding issues resolved. 📌 Hasakah province is administered with the participation of its communities, Abdi said, calling for Kurdish political and administrative participation in the coming phase. 📌 He said a committee is working to determine the fate and whereabouts of missing people, while efforts continue to ensure the safe return of displaced residents, with the so-called “Arab Belt” land issue in Hasakah also being addressed through legal channels.

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani received a high-level Lebanese delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri at Tishreen Palace in Damascus, with ministers of education, higher education, labor and social affairs attending from both sides. The talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations and coordination, foremost security cooperation and border control, as well as partnership in education, labor and social affairs and the work of the joint committees, while the return of displaced Syrians from Lebanon tops the agenda.

A decision issued by the General Secretariat of the Presidency sets daily working hours for administrative public-sector bodies from 8 A.M. until 4 P.M., effective December 1, 2026, while economic entities requiring continuous operations will set their own schedules under their respective regulations.
