had to lay down for a day because I caught a cold and my head felt like a wreck, now I decided to do a quick and loose page to warm up and start working on commissions again

I don't blame anyone for staying in established platforms, I still use Twitter even if I disagree with the way they run things, it's hard to get off their sphere of influence and now that AI is pushed literally everywhere it's hard to escape, but any solution/alternative is welcome and I'm looking to return to other platforms just in case things go south (again)

I have a mastodon but stopped using it because I didn't see much furry activity there, maybe I joined too early, and tbh I'm a bit hesitant of leaving Twitter behind because I'm finally growing a big enough platform there and it would be like starting from scratch. I'm still against the stealing of user data to train their AI of course, but any big corporation will walk over it's user base if it means squishing profit from them. Most internet is run by corporations now and that sucks.

BlueSky yesterday announced raising 15 million dollars through a venture capital funding led by Blockchain Capital. I'm just saying, the internet is not gonna be saved by yet another centralised company that promises to be respectful of its users. Promises mean nothing, and the exodus from Twitter to BlueSKy is only gonna attract more investors and more economic interests towards the latter. And it will be only a matter of time before BlueSky meets the same end as Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram and Twitter, becoming a machine for its owners' interests rather a platform that is really for the users. This is because, at the end of the day, centralised platforms like BlueSky (contrary to popular belief, it is not federated, it just uses a protocol that can be used for federation) have to rely on an essentially capitalistic financial system, either dying small or becoming big enough to be a puppet of venture capitalists and big funders, having to rely heavily on ads and selling user data for financial return. Instead of BlueSky you could use Mastodon, a decentralised (federated) alternative financed via crowdfunding, from which you can even follow and interact with BlueSky profiles via Bridgy Fed. To register you can either host your own server or you can choose from a long list of public servers. Some things might be a bit trickier to work out, but there's plenty of beginner guides to help you move across the platform (I usually recommend this one) TL;DR don't trust centralised platforms, ditch BlueSky, use Mastodon and reclaim your freedom on the internet #resources
