«After 4 hours of demonstration at the entrance of [the G7] Media Center, one of the activists was trying to chain themselves to one of the poles of the entrance structure, when one of the police agents pulled the chain from behind which strangled them for several seconds.» Let me add: this was not an incident. People tried to stop what was happening but the other cops used their shields to repress them and the policeman wouldn't stop pulling the chain until the activist managed to miraculously free themselves. For Italian speakers, there is a brief interview to one of the eye witnesses in the instagram post. While I don't doubt most cops wouldn't try to kill an innocent civilian, what these stories tell us is that none of them will hesitate to shield their most violent peers. While I know for a fact that individually most cops are themselves victims of wage work and the blackmails of the job market, the police force as a whole is designed to leverage on that blackmail to brainwash them into blind machines of remorseless violence. Cops are not your friends, and if they are ordered to do anything to you they will do it. Please do not let this be the normality, your indignation is not enough nor is your vote. We need your energy to organize and resist, outside institutions, outside the boundaries of law, outside the State, outside the framework this same oppressive system which is inherently designed to keep us from making an actual change. Disobey, go down in the streets, find a movement which reflects your values and join it. The time for action is now #reflection

++ Aggionamenti da Bari ++ Dopo 4 ore di presidio all’ingresso del Media Center, una delle persone presenti stava provando ad incatenarsi ad uno dei tiranti della struttura di ingresso, quando uno degli agenti delle forze dell’ordine ha tirato da dietro la catena che, scorrendo, l’ha strangolata per diversi secondi. Sul posto è subito arrivata l’ambulanza. Domani terminerà il #G7 e i leader mondiali rilasceranno tante dichiarazioni sulle prossime politiche climatiche che si impegneranno ad adottare. Non credetegli. Since we are talking about cops, I wanted to share something that happened the other day at a peaceful demonstration I was at. A policeman strangled a nonviolent activist (who is now physically fine now) with a chain he was using to lock themselves to the gates of the G7 media center.
