Ten Hag: "I think that is part when you play in top football. There is noise, rumours, you've got to focus."

Ten Hag: "It will have a reflection for him [Ronaldo], but also for everyone, I said at the start of the season, next time there has to be consequences otherwise when you are living together and playing together, football is a team sport and you have to fulfil certain standards."

Ten Hag: "We miss him [Ronaldo] tomorrow. It's a miss for the squad but it's important for the attitude and mentality of the group and now we have to focus on Chelsea as that is important."

Ten Hag: "After Vallecano, I told him [Ronaldo] it was unacceptable [to leave early] but not him everyone, this is the second time, there are consequences."

Ten Hag on Cristiano Ronaldo: "What the talk - if you ask about that - is between Cristiano and me. The statement is also clear, I think. He remains an important player in the squad."

Ten Hag: "There has to be consequences. It is important for the attitude and mentality of the group. I have to set the standards and values and control them."

more possession = more distance covered. that’s all there is to it

such a silly stat

#mufc covered 114.4km against Tottenham, the most in a match under Ten Hag, and 20km more than they did against Brentford (95.5km) [@LewisSteele_]

in the next summer window we really need to move on maguire - its clear he has no place in the side given how much a revelation the martinez-varane partnership has been. we need to sign a replacement cb in the mould of varane that is fast and can sweep up attacks. ten hag wanted timber from ajax this season and couldn't get him - hes still very talented and would be great if we go back in for him. would really like a right back as well. dalot has impressed this season, but his contract expires next year, and he doesn't have the final ball/attacking contribution of a top quality full back just yet. but its p clear that fullback isn't that much of a problem position for us. eriksen has been a revelation since his signing, but he isn't getting any younger and there are questions about his defensive solidity in big games (aka vs city) and its clear he isnt a long term option for us in the pivot. but the positions where we really need the most reinforcement is attack. ronaldo is not playing well, martial is injury prone and inconsistent, elanga is terrible on the ball. rashford has been filling in at striker and is considerably a better option than ronaldo there but its not a long term solution. toney has been playing at a very high level at brentford for some time, and so has gakpo at psv - two players that we have been linked with quite consistently. i am confident that by next year under ten hag, with the right reinforcements, we can be a geniune competitor for the title and trophies

fantastic win - our most dominant performance under ten hag so far easily. the style of the team is really starting to come together now

🗣 Erik ten Hag: “I said to the lads in the dressing room, it was so enjoyable to watch it.” [@lauriewhitwell]

🗣 Erik ten Hag on Fred: “I said to him before the match: 'Are you ready?' and he said: 'I am always ready' and he showed that today.” [@hirstclass]

🗣️ Erik ten Hag: "Eleven players who defend, eleven players who attack, a lot of dynamic. I am pleased with that. I will not say I am totally satisfied, good is not good enough. That has to be the standard here." [@lauriewhitwell]

Antonio Conte: “#mufc showed today they are much better than us. I consider Manchester United a really good team.” [@ShamoonHafez]
