Lisandro Martinez: “I’m very proud of everything I’ve gone through and it’s that strength I have today.” [MU] ❤️

Lisandro Martinez: “And then you start improving as a person, you work on lots of things, you learn, you experience things.” [MU]

Lisandro Martinez: “It’s true I come from a family in which we didn’t have everything. Nothing ever fell from the skies. But my family have always supported me a lot, they’ve instilled many values which make me who I am today.” [MU]

Lisandro Martinez: “I’d see things, as a kid, that maybe others didn’t. But life itself is tough, you’re always faced with tough times and that’s where you need to show your mental strength.” [MU]

West Ham were told #mufc have no intention of releasing Harry Maguire as Ten Hag feels he has a significant role to play at United this season [@sistoney67]

West Ham contacted #mufc about the possibility of signing Harry Maguire on loan until the end of the season. The answer was short: No chance [@sistoney67]

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: "We know with all of the games coming up that none of them will be easy, but we all go into every game with the mentality to win. I think we need to take every game, game by game with the aim of just winning." [mu]

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: "Yeah definitely [it was pleasing to hear Old Trafford react to his performance vs Man City]. It also pushes your confidence up to continue doing what you do best. Obviously, that pleased the fans and led to a chance in the game, so it was a good moment." [mu]

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: "For me, first it’s the team, you put the team first. The team performance. But individually I was happy with the way I played [against Man City]. That always helps with the team around you." [mu]

Ten Hag on the one player in football, past or present, whom he would most like to manage: "I would prefer to have Johan Cruyff and to have him play for #mufc —It would be magnificent what he could contribute to this club." [mu]

Ten Hag: "He has to add that, in details, working and for the rest of us he has a relationship to all the players in our squad. He also has to work on the togetherness and he is doing a great job on that." [mu]

Ten Hag: "Football is about scoring and you have a goalkeeping specialist, but you also have offensive specialists and in particular we have a specific scoring trainer [Benni McCarthy]." [mu]

Ten Hag on bringing in Benni McCarthy: "I wanted also to find a good balance. He is offensive [minded] as he is a former striker and that is also a really specific task in the team. I never played there, so I’m [always] lucky to have someone in my staff who played there." [mu]

#mufc believe Alejandro Garnacho has huge potential but the club and Ten Hag have been wary about giving him too much too soon and eager to pitch a new contract at the right level that offers just the right incentive and maintains that hunger to improve [@TelegraphDucker]

#mufc have been keen to strike a balance between rewarding Alejandro Garnacho for his fine form after breaking into the first team and enormous promise and avoiding a repeat of the Adnan Januzaj situation [@TelegraphDucker]

Ten Hag: "I think we have more players in our squad who have the capacity to be multi-functional and we can use that as a weapon in games."

Ten Hag: "I think [against Man City] it matched really well [Shaw at centre-back], but I think in other games he can contribute even more on the left in the wide positions so it's a tactical choice and we can see from game to game what we need."

Ten Hag on starting Luke Shaw vs Man City: "When you analyse the profile of Haaland and the combination with De Bruyne it was the right decision - Luke has the physical power to compete with them and tactical view to make the right decision and technical skills to play there."

Ten Hag: "He's [Shaw] an example of how to win big games. I'm really happy with his development. I think it's been huge either at centre-half or left full-back, he's a great player and a great personality for the dressing room."

Ten Hag: "You can see when he [Shaw] has the right approach he's a top player. I don't mean only as a team player, he's a leader. He's shown a lot of leadership capacities - he's the example at the moment - with his skills and with his physical power he brings a lot to the team."
