"The SS is meant to be the shock troops of National Socialism. It can only be that if it forms a close-knit community.
1) All SS men must be intellectually and spiritually permeated by the one worldview of National Socialism. As a racial worldview, it is the guardian of the heritage of our ancestors. Therefore, the SS must consciously continue old customs, such as the solstice, or revive them in a new form.
2) Community requires shared, powerful experiences. The solstice celebrations are intended to be such an experience for the SS men. The blazing bonfire under the night sky creates the conditions for a quiet hour of reflection and remembrance of the dead and Germans abroad."
"The divine power of the sun had awakened new life, which was moving towards its ripening fulfillment. The Germanic farmers' joyful greeting at the solstice was directed to the sun, the giver of all life force. This fire was not a "sacrifice," not lit to appease the forces of Nature, not to protect people, animals, and fields from harm through "fire magic." No, this solar fire was an expression of the experience of the divine in the universe, in and around us. The custom of burning the solar fire was once a deeply religious act of our ancestors. The fire was considered by them to be the "image of the sun" (Edda) and thus became a symbol of the divine power active in the sun. And the fire greeting of the Germanic farmers was a sincere, not humble, greeting to their "faithful friend," the deity. These aspects of the Germanic solstice have been preserved in the customs of the German farmer to this day. Generally, we find the solstice fire more frequently than the winter solstice fire. But in many regions it is called "St. John's Fire," because the Church transferred the birthday of the biblical John to this ancient heathen holiday, which could not be eradicated, thus maintaining its solstice traditions in the same way it transferred Christmas, the birth of Jesus, to the day of Yule."

"When we celebrate the Summer Solstice together here, we also wish to consider what this means to us. For we do not engage in sport for sport's sake alone, and we do not gather for this brief ceremony merely to hear a few fine words; rather, all of this has a deeper meaning for us, and the one is closely connected to the other. [...] It belongs to this worldview that we do not despise the body and do not unilaterally glorify the spirit. For us, body and spirit are not two things that stand separate and side by side, but we know that a healthy spirit requires a healthy body to function fully, and we also know that Bolshevism cannot be overcome by prayer, but only by men who are not only strong of will, but also strong of body. That is why the SS stands alongside sport. Why these martial arts games specifically today? It is an ancient custom among the Nordic race, throughout the centuries, to hold competitions and martial arts games at all ceremonies. Why? Because the people of this race take pleasure in the healthy and powerful body. For they have not despised the body, as the Semitic peoples and those who were set by the Semites did, but they saw in the healthy, well-formed, and noble man a kinship with the divine. [...] We know that all these conceptions among our ancestors are closely connected with the course of the sun and the eternal alternation of dying and being born. Therefore, they solemnly celebrated the high holidays of the year: the rebirth of the sun at midwinter and the day of the sun's highest position at midsummer. The same worldview lives within us, too; we too place action above all else; we too hold the hero in the highest esteem; and we too stand within this order of creation with the eternal alternation of birth and death. Here, and especially now, we are faced with two separate worldviews locked in conflict. The Life-affirming and biological basis of National Socialism, and negation of this world in the Bible. National Socialism see's the importance of the world through Natural Law. That is our reverence to God. That the divinity is also found in it's expression of this world.

In an Official SS memorandum from the SS-Junkerschule Braunschweig, the training commander emphasized that ideological training within the SS was of dire importance, especially spiritually breaking free from the church:
"Besides this educational influence on the people, it is necessary to eliminate negative influences as far as possible. This primarily concerns the influence of foreign religions on the German people, who are thereby inwardly drawn away from the goals of the Reich. The German worldview must be given a decisive breakthrough. In addition to liberation from the spiritual shackles of the Church, opportunities must be created that are capable of replacing the necessary external activities that were previously carried out by the Church. These activities mostly still take place in the Church only because nothing has been put in their place. Even if the SS and other Party organizations celebrate in a manner deemed appropriate for the German people, these opportunities are not available to the average German citizen. The fact that they are demanded by wider circles is proven by the lively demand for such celebrations within the SS. Since a large portion of churchgoers only remain members because such celebrations are held within the church, it would likely be possible to significantly weaken the church if these celebrations were permitted by the Reich or party authorities in the National Socialist sense."

However, the uncompromising and divisive contrast between the concept of the self as the pursuit of individual salvation within the church and the totalitarian claim of the National Socialist people's community must be emphasized with utmost clarity. Furthermore, the destruction of human harmony through a one-sided focus on the spiritual realm, in contrast to the National Socialist understanding of the holistic nature of humanity (body, soul, and spirit), as taught and proven by National Socialism, must be pointed out. The goal of ideological education is, in any case, to familiarize the recruit with the foundations that will encompass and determine his life, to inspire him according to his intellectual dispositions, and to impart a National Socialist-oriented worldview."

The Anti-Völkisch Character of Christianity
Despite all attempts of reconciling the religion of Jesus with National Socialism, Christianity continues to remain an international religion tied to Judean soil. From the pursuit of a universal "objective" truth down to the very nature of baptism itself, this faith has absolutely nothing in common with socialism for the Volk.
The social question is already solved without Jesus; through Hitler, who embodied the glue of the German people - holding together the most vital components, classes, and properties of the nation. Love for National Socialists is anchored to race, in Christianity it's the opposite. When love, as a moral category, fails to attach itself to one's soil and blood, a universalist dilemma emerges, causing a divided impulse that puts the man on the spot - whether to love humanity or love his people - an impulse so conflicting that entire wars have been fought over it.
When all are branded as one, when all distinction and rank are liquidated, the natural differentiation of the world is ridden, in favor of a god who looks only at the inner attempts to overcome racial instincts and drives. That isn't splendid, that's a crime against Holy Nature, who punishes all those who violate her commands, as Hitler said in his Mein Kampf. It's an error to assume that races can be coequal spiritually and unequal physically, as anyone who isn't naive knows that the spiritual realm is regarded as superior in both denominations - meaning that a Christian lies right to your face when he suggests that the temporal material world has significance in his faith.
Additionally, National Socialism sees no difference in the body or soul, nor in the material or spirit. All exist in one uniform continuity. The material world of now is the spiritual world of forever, and while according to many myths it may have alternate dimensions, it certainly cannot be devalued by quasi-Platonic faiths that believe our world is merely a product of Satan or the demiurge. "When we ask ourselves what binds us together as a community, it is our worldview. A worldview is not easily put into words, at least not the worldview of our race, which cannot be confined within doctrines and dogmas. And yet we know what we mean; there is an unspoken experience of this time by which we are drawn to one another. Outwardly, however, we wish to form a very close-knit community, with a very specific goal and organization. For we are by virtue of our worldview also “political soldiers.” Therefore, without exception, we are subject to SS discipline. [...] Foreign cultural influences from the South have alienated us from ourselves. What, for example, is the relationship between man and woman? Must the woman be submissive to the man? To answer this, men and women of good race must consult within themselves, listen to “the voice of the blood,” study how our distant ancestors, who had been less subject to foreign influences, stood in relation to this, in order to arrive at a clear and distinct insight. And in doing so, they do not listen to any authority in the world whatsoever that is not of our race, nor do they allow themselves to be influenced by Genesis 3:16 of the Old Testament. That is what we understand by listening to the voice of the blood, i.e., the inherited disposition innate within us, which is bound to race. The core of our worldview is racial consciousness. Racial consciousness entails a rejection of all those Semitic influences in all branches of our cultural life, of our thinking and feeling, of science, art, and religion. It also entails a sharply defensive attitude against all universalism. For universalism, in whatever form, assumes that there are values that could have the same validity for all humanity, whereas we know that everything is bound to race, colored by race."

[...] When we view it in this way, religion no longer occupies a separate category, but we realize that all truly creative Nordic natures (in whatever field) must possess religion. For they create out of strength and trust; not out of a sense of dependence, but out of the awareness of their freedom within bondage. [...] That is the defining characteristic of Nordic religion, that this trust is more: “a state of mind” than a dogmatic faith. It is a trust in the sacred Order in which we stand and of which we can be co-builders. It is, when we seek a personal God behind that Order, our trust in God; and this is what makes this Nordic trust so remarkable to others, that at times it is a vague, impersonal trust, so unequivocal, and at other times it is condensed into trust in God. That is why their motto will not be: man yields, God disposes, but rather: help yourself, and God will help you. Fundamentally, there is an opposing state of mind in those two sayings. The first reflects the attitude of man who feels small, insignificant, and dependent. The second is the attitude of man who knows himself to be a co-builder of the sacred Order, not in unworthy overestimation of himself, but permeated by his bondage and his freedom. It is this attitude that Hitler evokes in Germanism and has reawakened: the age-old trust in God."

The people are holy to us and what serves the people, but no external ceremonies can give us a profane person anything holy, and a priest is no holier to us than a Germanic hero who knew of the salvation in People and Race. Our ancestors, not yet Christianized, knew no priestly caste and saw something holy in every great personality, but especially when it was a woman. This was already known to Tacitus. An article from the SS Vormingsbladen on "The race issue and the churches", The SS emphasized they will never compromise the doctrine of race for church dogma which contradicts it:
"A question frequently asked of us is this: can the SS’s views on race be reconciled with Christian doctrine? Our answer may be this: We experience race as a given reality, which we do not doubt and which we do not reason away. We need not question what science knows regarding human descent, heredity, and racial formation, and which it partly proves empirically. To what extent this experience and knowledge conflict with the dogmas and doctrines of the churches is not of primary importance to us. When our Germanic science discovered (what the Greeks knew before us!) that the earth was round and revolved around the sun, this scientific insight was also incompatible with what the church taught. The church took a long time to adapt, did so reluctantly, but nowadays it no longer causes "conflicts of conscience," and no people are burned for it, nor are books placed on the Index. It will be the same with the race question. We have no need to compromise, and we have absolutely no intention of doing so!"

Developed by the official SS-Unterscharführerschule Radolfzell, the SS outlined what it means to be committed to God outside of Christianity:
"It is not enough merely to acknowledge God; we must make his laws the laws of our lives (moral commitment). Our entire life is worship, the fulfillment of a divine mission. Our task is the constant realization of God through our actions. Our task is the unfolding of the gifts of our blood in service to the nation. Our task is to make the German man, once again part of God's creation, truly German. Our lives are not for pleasure, but for our people. Our worship is the overcoming of fear. Life overcomes death. Faith should not be talked about, but lived and cherished in our hearts. We do not need specific forms of worship. Our morning devotions should not be a substitute for church services, but rather strengthen our spiritual well-being. We do not beg God in prayers, but engage in honest dialogue with our destiny. "We National Socialists are convinced that there is a meaningful relationship to the universe and to creation. We are not irreverent or godless, but rather submit to a higher power. However, we have no intention of trying to approach this higher being through brooding and philosophizing. Instead, we strive to fulfill its laws, that is, the laws of Nature. Nature did not create us as individuals, but as members of a community. This is the insight upon which the worldview of National Socialism is built. It places each individual within the community and obligates them to serve their family, their clan, their people, their race—that is, their fatherland. The individual's obligation culminates in the dedication of their life to this national community. Each living generation is only one link in the chain that begins with the earliest ancestors and continues into the future with subsequent generations. The living bloodbearers of the national community are responsible for the existence and future of the nation. It is therefore to the detriment of an entire people when an individual corrupts their healthy genetic heritage and thereby endangers the survival of their lineage. Everyone has the task and high obligation to ensure the preservation of a valuable genetic stock for their descendants. Only in this way is the future of a people guaranteed."
