The Baloch Liberation Army (Azad) has claimed responsibility for the killing of an individual identified as Mohammad Younus Langov, allegedly an operative of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), in Chaghai district.
According to a statement issued by BLA spokesperson Azad Baloch, BLA fighters apprehended Mohammad Younus alias Chakar, son of Mohammad Qasim and a resident of Mastung, during a snap checking operation in Chaghai earlier this month. The operation was identified as "Gobit" or "Goet."
The statement said Younus was subjected to interrogation, during which he allegedly revealed in a video confession that a team comprising two ISI operatives had contacted him in Quetta in 2022 and, by enticing him with money, transferred him to the ISI headquarters in Nushki.
The BLA statement further claimed that Younus told interrogators that Subedar Saeed Badshah of the ISI, based in Quetta, had arranged a meeting with two other handlers: Bahadur Khan and Muhammad Anwar, alias "Takri." According to the statement, these individuals provided funds to assist in locating BLA camps. Acting on instructions from the Pakistani army and ISI, they conducted reconnaissance of BLA camps in the Sakhi Noor Ali area of Mastung and relayed information to the ISI through Takri.
The statement also alleged that the Pakistani army launched a drone strike against the BLA based on information they provided, and that Takri was paid one million rupees for the operation, of which Younus received twenty thousand rupees.
Younus also allegedly confessed to participating in an operation against the BLA alongside the army along the Nushki-Kharan route. During one such operation, a clash occurred with the BLA, resulting in the deaths of Gul Khan and Muhammad Gul, who were working for the occupying army, and injuries to three other members of their death squads.
According to the BLA statement, Younus was arrested alongside four others during a snap check operation in Chaghai. While the others were released following interrogation, Younus was sentenced to death for his alleged crimes against the Baloch national liberation movement and Baloch freedom fighters. The statement said this sentence was carried out on September 14.
The BLA stated that its fighters have tightened the net around the occupying enemy, its intelligence agencies, and elements acting as their proxies, and that these individuals will be singled out and punished. The statement added that enemies who endanger the security of Baloch freedom fighters or work against the Baloch liberation movement deserve no leniency.
