He stated that entrepreneurs who have acquired land for these operations also need to work toward making their businesses successful. He added that be-fore advancing to scientific and modern breeding systems, it is necessary to first adopt and practice systematic breeding methods. He noted that since the current breeding businesses involve raising animals confined within pens, they must first implement clean and tidy feeding systems as well as proper healthcare systems. He mentioned that breeding systems include free-range, tethered, and intensive confinement systems, and raising animals by letting them roam free in pastures is cost-effective. He stated that the system of tethered herding with ropes also offers reasonable cost savings. He noted that although the intensive confinement system involves higher expenses, it can be developed into a successful breeding business if operated systematically. He explained that since the land areas of the Kan Gyi, Shwe Myo, and Pyaung Khaung Gyi breeding zones have abundant animal feed resources, they were designated as breeding zones, and it is necessary to factor in feed availability and market access when implementing these operations. He added that if animal feed is produced and fed using local agricultural raw materials, and if breeding and production can achieve self-sufficiency for consumption, commodity prices can be reduced. Regarding dairy cattle farming, he stated that as our country must import large volumes of milk and dairy products from abroad every year, significant amounts of foreign currency are being spent, and if sufficient production can be achieved domestically, imports can be reduced. He noted that while it is observed that only yogurt is being produced in our country, there is a need to sufficiently produce condensed milk, evaporated milk, and milk powder, which are widely consumed by the majority. He added that to ensure nutritional consumption at affordable prices, it is necessary to work toward providing full supplies of milk and eggs, and as these activities support the Nay Pyi Taw Union Terri-tory and the State, he would like them to be carried out successfully. He explained that whether undertaking agricultural or livestock businesses, success will be achieved through the elements of breed, soil, water, and technique—namely, cultivating and breeding quality strains, transforming into a systematic breeding system just like systematically preparing soil for cultivation, ensuring a full water supply, and utilizing good farming and breeding techniques. He also stated that arrangements must be made to ensure good production roads within the breeding zones, systematic fencing, clearing of brush, and tree planting must be carried out according to each breeding zone and activity, and he provided other necessary guidance, according to reports.

Shwemyo Farming Zone During the inspection of a goat farm of Sunlight Venture Co. Ltd in Shwemyo Farming Zone, Nay Pyi Taw, Union Territory, the President heard a report on work implementation, feeding systems and future programs, presented by proprietor of the company U Myat Min Latt. Regarding the report, the President said, firstly, farming activities must be systematic, and from that stage a modern farming method must be adopted. Since the initial stage, systematic feeding and water sup-ply systems must be applied. Moreover, biosecurity must also be taken into account. He pointed out the need to adopt effective arrangement for the farm to meet the target number of goats and to systematically produce meat. In addition, it should also distribute goatskin in the market. The President inspected a pig farm of a local battalion in the zone, and heard a report on functions of the farm, distribution of finisher pigs, delivering of pigs to military command HQsas fresh rations, dried meat, and ready-to-eat pork curry packs at the prices lower than the market prices through various means, presented by an official. In response, the President said the farm must produce its own breeding pigs in extending its business rather than importing them. From the initial stage of breeding to meat production, the whole process must be systematic. The farm must feed the pigs as per the prescriptions, and should be able to produce meat in the specified time limit. Farm officials must study the breeding methods of the successful farms and must conduct research. He then stressed the need to adopt careful plans in applying breeding pig production system, breeding system, feeding system, and meat production system and to introduce a continuous breeding system. The farm should further extend its activities, he said, giving guidance on other issues. No 1 Kangyi Farming Zone The President and party proceeded to Phanhwa milk cow farm of U Twam Kin win, who presented a report on breeding of milk cow and calves, production of feedstuff by using local raw materials, and operations of milk processing plant and yogurt production plant. The President looked into the requirements, speaking of the need to study and adopt the breeding methods, feeding methods and waste management system of foreign countries. He pointed out the possibility of generating electricity from waste through biogas generator system to prevent waste from harming the environment and reducing the cost of electricity. The farm can produce formulated feed by mixing nivea grass and local corn, he said, and fulfilled the other needs of the farm. Afterwards, the President arrived at U Myat San's poultry farm and inspected the operations of broiler and layer poultry farming, where entrepreneur U Myat San conducted a tour and explained the status of the activities. Regarding the explanations, the President said that the business operations need to be upgraded step by step, and automated feeding, watering, and egg collection systems can be implemented. He stated that layer poultry farming supports food sufficiency and enables nutritional consumption at affordable prices. He added that the nutritional value obtained from eating an egg is equivalent to that of eating 5 ticals' weight of chicken, while the cost is about one-third cheaper. Therefore, he urged them to successfully operate and expand the businesses, suggested that tiles could also be used for roofing to reduce the heat in poultry houses, and provided other necessary advice and encouragement.
