President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing inspects upgrading of roads and bridges and operations of industries based on local agro-products in Nay Pyi Taw, Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw   May   23 President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Vice President U Nyo Saw, union ministers, U Myo Thant and U Min Naung, and officials, inspected upgrading of roads and bridges and operations of the industries based on local agroproducts in Nay Pyi Taw, Union Territory, this morning. Upgrading of roads and bridges During the inspection of a railway bridge (1,300 feet) of the Nay Pyi Taw-Taungdwingyi rail-road on Shwepyi Tawwin Road, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant and officials re-ported on progress of work. Regarding the report, the President said all roads in Nay Pyi Taw (Union Territory) must be upgraded systematically in accord with the standard quality. Careful calculations should be made to build railways bridges at necessary places in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area. He stressed the need to complete parts of the Nay Pyi Taw-Taungdwingyi railroad bridge project that can be carried out before the onset of monsoon through proper supervision. The President observed the activities to clean and beautify the areas along the Shwepyi Tawwin Road in a motorcade. The President inspected the new Nay Pyi Taw Airport entrance road project and preparations for erection of a temporary steel-frame bailey bridge, and heard a report on progress work presented by the Union Minister for Construction and officials. In response, the President said facilitation of the trip from Nay Pyi Taw to the new airport entrance road and vice versa is the aim of the road construct-ion project. Systematization and quality must be taken into account in building new roads. Probability of the increasing number of road users and traffic in the future must be calculated, he noted, adding that continuous road upgrading projects calls for the adoption of a master plan. Shade trees and wind-breakers must be planted on both sides of the roads before the arrival of rains.   The President then proceeded to Yangon-Mandalay rail-road bridge project on Shwepyi Tawwin Road. In response to a report presented by an official, he called for careful measures in building the road linking Pyinmana detour and Shwepyi Taw-win Road. Systematization of all roads in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area and calculating of the increasing urban population and traffic in the future must be conducted through well-planned actions. He also looked into other requirements. Implementation of industries based on local crops Then, the President arrived at the frozen vegetable export industry of Myanmar Agri Foods Co. Ltd in Kyeein Village in Pyinmana and heard reports on the processing and exports of various frozen vegetables including ladies’ fingers,  amaranth, French bean, mangoes and other beans to foreign markets, endeavors made to increase per capita incomes of basic social classes, production by using 90 percent of raw materials from contract farms, plans to manufacture high-quality new products, market shares currently secured and measures taken to expand to Asia and Europe markets submitted by an responsible official from the company. After hearing the reports, the President said it is an enterprise that contribute to the interest of the country  and measures must be taken to boost the exports aiming at the existing markets. In doing so, collective cooperative system can be applied. If research is conducted to mass produce vegetables at any season in trove in green houses, more vegetable raw materials will be available., more products can be manufactured and distributed to local and foreign markets, increasing foreign exchange earnings for the country.

The President arrived at the Myanmar Gems Museum (Nay Pyi Taw) that was damaged by the Mandalay earthquake, and inspected the progress in phase-by-phase renovation of the museum to ensure earthquake resistance as per the recommendations and specifications of the Myanmar Engineering Council and looked into the requirements. The President gave guidance to officials on systematic undertakings to ensure the cleanliness, neatness, and beauty of the museum facades. The President proceeded to Mani Yadana Jade Hall and Jade Park (Nay Pyi Taw) and looked around the maintenance works. He spoke of the need to conduct interior and exterior changes of the Mani Yadana Jade Hall as necessary and to upgrade the Jade Park to become pleasant and to meet its criteria. The President observed the activities to clean and beautify the areas along the Yazathingaha Street and urbanization activities of the areas around Thabyaygon Roundabout. He attended to the needs of officials. At the Naypyitaw Gate and Park construction project, the President heard a report on progress of work and future pro-grams, presented by the Union Minister for Construction. In response, the President said systematic calculations should be made to build the Naypyitaw Gate in accord with the Myanmar culture and set standard, adding that systematization of the project calls for proper supervision. Proper drainage must be ensured systematically in the areas along the detour. Development affairs committees must pay attention to cleanness and beautification of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area. Members of Nay Pyi Taw Development Affairs Committee should make energetic efforts for the urbanization activities. At the Nay Pyi Taw Square, he urged officials to erect the statues of historical persons at the square, to curve reliefs and to build buildings that meet the urban standard in the areas around the square. At the briefing room of the Union Hall of Honour project, the President heard a report on progress of work and growing of plants and flowers in the vicinity of the hall and watched the proposed 3D designs of the project, presented by the Union Minister for Construction. In response, the President said statues of the persons who strove for the perpetuation of the Union must be placed at the hall. Myanmar cultural designs and modern architecture and art should be proportionately combined in building the hall and infrastructure. Evergreen trees and flowering plants must be grown for lush and pleasant-ness of the environ of the hall. He also looked into other requirements.
