🇮🇷🇺🇸 REPORT
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian:
Previously we released American prisoners. The understanding was that they would release our money. We did our part. Several of the people that they had asked for were released.
The money came from South Korea. Qatar was supposed to transfer it to us. When we did our part, the United States did not follow through. We tested it, but it didn't work.
The United States gets what it wants, but it doesn't honor its commitment. In other words, we gave our money.
Even now, we remain committed. We don't want to fight. But certainly, if they strike us, we will defend ourselves.

🇮🇷🇺🇸 REPORT
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian:
Do you think the United States of America is genuinely interested in solving problems with us?
Why then does it bomb us in the middle of negotiations?
Why does it come and kill our scientists, officials and people?

2026-09-26
Regional Security Overview
During the current window, the Saudi-led coalition reported monitoring missile and drone activity directed toward Saudi territory. Specifically, the coalition confirmed an interception of a ballistic missile launched by Yemen's Houthis targeting Khamis Mushait.
Diplomatic and Political Developments
Regional tension continues to manifest in international rhetoric and reporting. The Wall Street Journal reported that President Trump has rejected a proposed ceasefire from Iran. Reports indicate an expectation for intensified activity following the midterm elections. Meanwhile, in statements reported by state media, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran is not seeking war but remains critical of United States policy regarding sanctions and prior agreements. President Pezeshkian also addressed internal stability and Iran's position on nuclear policy, noting that pursuing nuclear weapons is not consistent with the nation's beliefs.
Elsewhere, global geopolitical updates include the conclusion of President Xi Jinping's visit to the United States, with reports of a new agreement covering trade and artificial intelligence cooperation. In Eastern Europe, reports emerged of a strike on the Krasnodar region, while the Ukrainian military reported hitting the Ilsky oil refinery. Additionally, Libya's National Oil Corporation announced the suspension of a refining unit at the Zawiya refinery due to the forced closure of a pipeline valve.

🇮🇷🇺🇸 REPORT
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian:
We're not seeking war. War was imposed on us. They martyred some of the best people in our country.
We've put things in writing. We've signed agreements. We've made commitments.
Let them abide by what was written, and then we can sit down closely and resume negotiations.

🇮🇷🇺🇸 REPORT
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian:
What the U.S. have done to us, to our people, has made people extremely upset.
Imagine if someone came into your country and assassinated your president, some of your top officials and your scientists.
If you were in our position, what would you do? And yet, here we are. We're still talking. We're still engaging in dialogue, and we're still making our demands within the framework of international law.
We're not asking for anything more than that.

🇮🇷🇺🇸 REPORT
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian:
Until trust is restored, it's not possible to have a meeting with Trump.
As long as they don't cease doing what they're imposing on us every day, it's difficult to trust them.
Every day they increase the sanctions against us. Every day they threaten us. Every day they strike us. And they don't honor what they've put in writing.
They don't honor what they've signed. How can we believe that if we talk, the problem would get resolved?

🇮🇷🇺🇸 REPORT
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian:
There are no specific ongoing health issues or challenges for Mojtaba Khamenei.
On the last occasion when we met for seven-plus hours, of course, we were not used to being in seated positions for that many hours.
We changed angles and positions. We crossed our legs and so on. But of course, he was healthy enough to be able to withstand those hours in that situation.
From a medical standpoint, he's completely healthy. Hear this from me as a physician and accept it: he has no issues.

🇮🇷🇺🇸 REPORT
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian:
When did we ever say that we are seeking nuclear weapons?
Developing nuclear weapons is haram from a standpoint of belief, not from a legal perspective.
Even if some individuals in Iran may have the incentive to develop nuclear weapons, religiously speaking, they are not allowed to pursue that path.

Palantir co-founder Peter Thiel on Trump's terms:
I think the two administrations kind of made opposite mistakes.
The first administration brought in all these people who couldn’t agree, and it was just all this internal fighting.
The second administration overcorrected for the mistake of the first term with all these loyalty tests.
You got sort of an administration staffed by not very smart but very loyal people.

Palantir co-founder Peter Thiel:
I think there can be a reasonable debate about Ukraine, a reasonable debate about China, a reasonable debate about Israel.
And at the same time, somehow I do think the AfD is wrong on all three. And you can't be wrong on all three.

🇺🇸🇩🇪 REPORT
Palantir co-founder Peter Thiel:
The rise of the AfD reflects these failures of the centrist parties. It reflects a failure to find an economic future for Germany that is somehow inclusive and broad and works for society as a whole.
I don't think they have great solutions. I don't think they know how to balance the budget — either the parties of the extreme left or the extreme right.

🇺🇸 REPORT
Palantir co-founder Peter Thiel:
I think we moralize way too much.
And there's always a question I like to ask: What is the antonym of good? The moral antonym is evil. The functional antonym is bad.
A Ferrari is an evil car because it doesn't get many miles per gallon. A Trabant is a bad car. It works. It's less good than a Golf car, you know, the former East German car.
So, you know, if you're evil, you're at least competent. And if you're evil, you're not bad, and therefore you're actually maybe kind of good because you're at least getting something done.
I think it's better to be good than evil.

President Trump via Truth Social:
Why should perpetrators of FAKE NEWS, like CNN and MSDNC, be allowed access to a very sacred place, the White House?
Despite my big Election Win, almost 100% of “TRUMP” coverage is negative, and has been for years!

Germany's FM Wadephul on Putin’s G20 invitation:
I believe that this invitation will be a litmus test really also for Putin to negotiate. These kinds of opportunities one would have to take advantage of.
We have repeatedly asked the Russian government and Putin to come to the negotiating table, and if it is a possibility, then perhaps it would be at least a start to serious negotiations.

French President Emmanuel Macron has left open the possibility of returning to office after his second consecutive term ends next May.
Speaking to Variety, Macron acknowledged that France’s constitution prevents him from serving a third consecutive term but said he would not rule out a future comeback.
“I don’t exclude anything. It’s quite unusual to come back, but we will see. Life is inventive, sometimes more than movies.”

🇺🇸🇷🇺 REPORT
A bipartisan group of 14 U.S. senators has urged President Trump to withdraw his invitation to Russian President Vladimir Putin for December’s G20 summit in Miami, POLITICO reports.
In a letter led by Republican Roger Wicker and Democrat Jeanne Shaheen, the senators argued that hosting Putin would risk legitimizing Russia’s continued attacks on Ukraine and undermine efforts to pressure Moscow into a ceasefire and peace negotiations.
