A young man named Siam was killed in a bomb blast carried out by miscreants in Maghbazar, Dhaka. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening (December 24) under the flyover in front of the Maghbazar Liberation War Memorial.
Eyewitnesses reported that a bomb was thrown from the flyover onto the area below in the evening. When the bomb exploded, Siam was seriously injured on the spot. He was later found lying there, bleeding profusely. He died a short time later.
Masud Alam, Deputy Commissioner of the Ramna Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said that it is initially believed that the bomb was thrown from the flyover. The reason for the bomb attack has not yet been confirmed. The matter is being investigated.
The victim's relatives said that Siam worked at a private factory. He was in the area at the time of the incident. Although his identity could not be confirmed initially, his relatives later identified him.
Upon receiving the news, the police quickly arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. Panic spread throughout the area immediately after the incident. However, the perpetrators fled quickly after throwing the bomb.
