Pleasantly surprised to find so much resonance of my ideas with you folks. And, to know that some of you have seen the distillations of my articles and videos in your daily life, coaching classes, CSE content creators, your friends is even more heartening. Meeting some of you in Jhansi yesterday only lightened my motivation further. A lot of you ask why aren’t you posting about resources, tips and tricks, top 5 courses for xyz paper- it is because that’s sufficiently covered by everyone else. You should fill areas that aren’t covered, and that’s all I wanted to do. I hope I have sufficiently done it for those of you who tuned in. The idea is to cater to those who wish to listen and change their MO. Apart from that, seeing a lot of my content being picked from videos, articles and Substack across CSE content creators, my colleagues and aspirants makes me know that the vision I set out with has somewhat been achieved. The IP is strong.
From talking about ‘thinking’ to mains intelligence to diversified understanding to having micro-macro strategies, I hope all this makes a small difference in the way you approach things.
The quality of questions has substantially improved too. I see people being more interested in ‘learning’ and not ‘increasing marks’. The best part about the journey is the learning curve. Sounds specious but it’s true. USP mentality, not copy-paste mentality. That’s all. Hope you make the most of all that is around you! Optimise, not just expand. Thank you for being so positive towards all that I’ve done these past few months, it truly means the world. Good day🌻

Got this text today. What’s coming is more important. What you feel was your worst performance can sometimes yield the best results. We tend to be our biggest critics. And, the quantitative disaster of ‘left xyz marks in the exam’ makes that critic ride on steroids. Been there. Had someone told me all this last year, I would’ve joked at their naïveté but having undergone the same thing last year, trust me when I say that until you’ve not shot your last arrow, you don’t know if you’ve won. A good optional score has landed many people in the list, why can that not be your story? You’ve not lost the war. Until you’ve written the last word in Paper 2, your fate has not been decided. And so, until then, you must not submit to anything, especially not your own critic. Give it all your fire! All the best!✨

Good luck for tomorrow! Keep it simple, think naturally (like we’ve talked in the videos) and you’re good to go. Don’t copy-paste anyone, be true to your thinking, keep writing even when your hand isn’t catching up and you’ll do well. Most importantly, enjoy opening dimensions!🌻

Be ‘antifragile’ this mains. Reinforcing Taleb once again with the opening quote from his book: Wind extinguishes a candle and energizes fire. Likewise with randomness, uncertainty, chaos; you want to use them, not hide from them. You want to be the fire and wish for the wind. That which doesn’t kill me, can only make me stronger. All the very best to those writing the exam day after tomorrow. Whatever comes your way, face it with grit.🌻

Goodhart's Law (Interesting Concept) Goodhart's Law is the idea that when a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure. When you use a specific metric to reward or punish people, they change their behavior. They stop focusing on the actual goal. Instead, they focus only on maximizing that metric. This often destroys the original meaning of the data. The concept comes from British economist Charles Goodhart, who wrote about it in 1975 regarding monetary policy. Real-World Examples Education: Governments judge schools strictly on standardized test scores. Teachers stop teaching general knowledge and focus only on test-taking tricks, which lowers overall student learning. The Cobra Effect: Colonial rulers in India offered a financial reward for dead cobras to reduce the snake population. Locals began breeding cobras to get more money. When the reward stopped, they released the snakes, making the problem worse. Software Development: A manager tracks how many lines of code developers write to measure productivity. Developers respond by writing long, messy code to inflate their numbers. The software gets worse, but the metric looks great.
