| 9 |  What Happens When You Connect Your Phone to Wi-Fi?
You tap Connect and within seconds you're online. But several networking processes happen.
1. Wi-Fi Association
Your phone scans for nearby SSIDs and connects to the Access Point (AP). Authentication and encryption are negotiated if the network is secured.
2. DHCP
DHCP automatically provides your phone with an IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS server.
3. Default Gateway
Usually your router, the default gateway forwards traffic destined for networks outside your local network.
4. DNS
When you enter google.com DNS translates the domain name into an IP address so your device can locate the server.
5. ISP
Your router forwards internet traffic to your ISP connecting your network to the wider internet.
6. Routing & NAT
The router determines where packets should go and often uses NAT so multiple devices can share one public IP.

Phone → AP → Router → ISP → Internet → Server

ዴኒስ ሪቺ በBell Labs የሰራ የኮምፒውተር ሳይንቲስት ሲሆን፣ በ1970ዎቹ ከKen Thompson ጋር C Programming Languageን አበለጸገ። C የSoftware Engineering፣ Operating Systems እና Systems Programming መሰረት ከሆኑ ቋንቋዎች አንዱ ነው።
ዴኒስ ሪቺ በC ያሳደረው ተፅዕኖ፦
1. C Programming Language፦ C ከAssembly ቀላል ሆኖ ከHardware ጋር በቅርብ እንዲሰራ ተዘጋጅቷል። ይህም ፈጣን Software እና የሲስተም ቁጥጥር አስችሏል።
2. UNIX እና C፦ UNIX በC እንደገና መጻፉ Operating Systemን ከተለያዩ Hardwareዎች ጋር ማስማማት አስቻለ።
3. የዛሬው ቴክኖሎጂ መሰረት፦ C በC++፣ C#፣ Java እና Linux Kernel ላይ ተፅዕኖ አሳድሯል።

| 13 |  WannaCry Ransomware Attack 💀🌐
WannaCry በ2017 በዓለም ዙሪያ በተፈጠረ እጅግ የታወቀ Ransomware Cyber Attack ነው። ጥቃቱ በWindows የሚሰሩ ስርዓቶችን በመጠቃት ፋይሎችን ይቆልፍ እና እንደገና ለመክፈት ክፍያ ይጠይቅ ነበር።
WannaCry በተለይ በሶስት ነገሮች ይታወቃል፦
1. 🔐 File Encryption: በኮምፒውተር ውስጥ ያሉ ፋይሎችን በማመስጠር ተጠቃሚዎች ፋይሎቻቸውን እንዳይጠቀሙ ያደርግ ነበር።
2. 🌐 Rapid Spreading: አንድ ስርዓት ከተጠቃ በኋላ በNetwork ውስጥ ወደ ሌሎች Vulnerable Windows Systems ሊሰራጭ ይችል ነበር።
3. 💰 Ransom Demand: የተመሰጠሩ ፋይሎችን ለመመለስ ተጠቃሚዎች በCryptocurrency ክፍያ እንዲፈጽሙ ይጠይቅ ነበር።
The Impact 🌍
WannaCry በዓለም ዙሪያ በብዙ ድርጅቶች እና ኮምፒውተሮች ላይ ተጽዕኖ አሳደረ። በተለይም የUK National Health Service (NHS) ላይ ያስከተለው ችግር በጣም ታዋቂ ሆነ።

WannaCry አንድ አስፈላጊ Cybersecurity lesson ያስተምረናል፦
Keep systems patched, maintain reliable backups, and never underestimate a known vulnerability.

Wireshark በ1998 የተጀመረ፣ ዛሬ በዓለም ዙሪያ በCybersecurity ባለሙያዎች፣ Network Engineers እና Security Analysts በስፋት የሚጠቀሙበት የNetwork Protocol Analyzer መሳሪያ ነው። ይህንን ኃይለኛ መሳሪያ በነፃ እና Open Source መልኩ ለማንም እንዲጠቀምበት ቀርቧል።
Wireshark በሁለት ዋና ጠንካራ ጎኖቹ ይታወቃል፦
1. የNetwork Traffic መተንተን፦ በNetwork ላይ የሚጓጓዙ የData Packets መረጃዎችን በመያዝ እና በመተንተን በNetwork ውስጥ ምን እየተፈጠረ እንደሆነ ለማወቅ ያግዛል።
