Inside GCI: Alumni Stories and Live Q&A Curious about what it is really like to participate in GCI World? Join this interactive online session to hear directly from GCI alumni and outstanding students about their experiences, challenges, key takeaways, and practical advice. Important Message - Requires Urgent Action Regarding Program Preference Submission Please be informed that due to technical difficulties, program preferences submitted between July 28 and August 4, 2026, will not be considered for the placement process. Therefore, all students, including government‑sponsored students and those who are self‑sponsored without assigned programs, are required to re‑submit their program preferences. The portal will remain open for re‑submission from August 4 to August 6, 2026. 👉👉Please note that you must re‑submit your program preference by following the steps below: 1. Log in to your portal account at: https://portal.aau.edu.et/ 2. Click on the Admissions tab and select Placement. 3. You will see a list of disciplines available under each college and institute. 4. Rank your preferred disciplines/programs by assigning numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.) in the preference form. 5. Ensure that you enter the correct number for each program before clicking Submit. Deadline for Re‑submission: The portal will be open for re‑submission from August 4 to August 6, 2026. After this date, the portal will be closed, and no further submissions will be accepted. Update on Internship and Cost-Sharing Payments Dear CTBE Students, We sincerely apologize for the delay in providing this announcement. We would like to assure you that we have been actively working to address the issues regarding the internship payment and cost-sharing payment. Unfortunately, some aspects of the situation are beyond our direct control. Nevertheless, we have done everything within our capacity to follow up on these matters and seek solutions. We would like to update you on the current status: 1. Internship Payment The internship payment will be deposited today or tomorrow. We kindly ask you to be patient and check your accounts accordingly. 2. Cost-Sharing Payment Regarding the cost-sharing payment, there is currently no new update. However, we want you to know that we have raised the issue with the officials responsible for handling the matter. We have also taken the case to the Vice President of Addis Ababa University (AAU). The response we received is that students should wait patiently, as the payment will be deposited soon. In short , the main issue concerning the cost-sharing payment is the lack of an available budget. The matter is being handled at the AAU Main Campus (6 Kilo) rather than at CTBE. We have also been informed that several other colleges are still waiting for their cost-sharing payments, so it's gonna be fixed by main campus. Most importantly, we want to assure you that the cost-sharing payment will be deposited. We simply do not have a confirmed date for when the payment will be made.We understand that this uncertainty may be frustrating, but please be assured that we are continuing to follow up with the responsible officials and will keep you informed of any new information.
