we spend so much time and energy trying to control other people and get emotionally affected trying to decipher their behaviors, failing to realize we have no control over them. we were not put on this earth to control other people's actions. It's not your job to analyze people's behaviors and jump into conclusions about why they're doing what they're doing. The truth is, you'll never truly know. This is where the "let them theory" comes in. A situationship doesn't wanna commit? Let them. Someone is excluding you? Let them. Someone ghosted you? Let them. Not only is this so emotionally freeing, but it also allows people to show their true colors, and that is invaluable. You are then able to make better choices about the people you want to keep in your life.

As you get older, you notice how people really do make time for the things they love and excuses for the things they don't!!

According to attachment theory, genuine love is reflected in how someone responds to your pain, not just your presence. When someone truly values your wellbeing, their deepest fear isn't losing access to you - it's causing you harm. But when someone only loves what you provide for them, they fear losing their supply, not hurting your heart. This subtle difference reveals everything about whether you're loved for who you are or what you give.

at some point you really have to tell yourself "this is not an experience i want to keep having" and stop entertaining things that don't benefit you in any way.

what a privilege to be tired from work you once begged the universe for. what a privilege to feel overwhelmed by growth you used to dream about. what a privilege to be challenged by a life you created on purpose. what a privilege to outgrow things you used to settle for.

Love starts when the shit comes up. Your past. His wiring. Fears. Family dynamics. Old tugs. Attachment styles. Love languages. The contrast of two people deciding to truly show themselves and realizing that love is a choice. Not a feeling.

life keeps teaching me the same lesson over and over that people can love you deeply and still leave. permanence is an illusion, and the sooner you learn that, the softer the heartbreak hits.

do you ever realize how fragile everything is? one text can change your mood, one sentence can end a relationship, one decision can alter your entire life. everything balanced on threads thinner than we admit.

my biggest fear isn't death or snakes or even failure. it's being completely ordinary in a world that demands extraordinary and not having the energy to pretend i'm special. it's the possibility that this is it - this room, this routine, this quiet life - and that i'll never be interesting enough to matter to anyone, including myself. sometimes i think mediocrity is the scariest monster of all because it's so comfortable, so easy to settle into without even noticing

You can't scare off someone who truly wants a relationship with you. Genuine connection is a warm and forgiving place filled with appreciation for who you are. Your surface errors won't ruin a relationship with someone who sees you on a deeper level. Connection is rare, and we cling to it, even when we have no idea how to navigate it.

nostalgia is such a liar. it edits out all the anxiety and awkwardness and amplifies the golden moments until they glow like something holy. you remember the feeling of summer vacation but not the boredom, the excitement of first love but not the insecurity, the freedom of being young but not the confusion. maybe that's mercy - our brains protecting us from reliving the full weight of growing up by letting us keep the highlights reel.

i think about death sometimes, not in a scary way but in a "this is temporary" way. like, we're all just visiting this planet for a brief moment in cosmic time, and somehow that makes everything feel both more precious and less serious. the embarrassing thing you did last week? the mistake you made last year? in the grand scheme of the universe, it's all just stardust having a human experience, and maybe that's enough reason to be gentle with ourselves

when people ask me what i want in life, i never know how to answer because what i really want feels too simple to say out loud. i want sunday mornings with nowhere to be. i want conversations that last until sunrise. i want to feel useful without feeling used. i want to love without keeping score. i want to be understood without having to explain every part of myself. i want ordinary moments that feel extraordinary just because i'm sharing them with the right person
