Yesterday, we found ourselves standing beside Our Lady of the Sea in Chauvin, Mary overlooking the coastal waters with a seabird perched above her.
I didn't know what today's devotional would be.
This morning I opened it:
SEPTEMBER 8
THE NATIVITY OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
And the title of the reflection?
“OUR FAMILY STORY.”
After yesterday's journey, I simply sat with that for a moment.
The reflection asks us to remember our own family story, to be grateful for what has brought us to this point in our lives, and to recognize that each of us belongs to something larger than ourselves.
Yesterday: Mary by the sea.
Today: Mary's birthday and a reflection on family, belonging and the journey that brought us here.
Some moments don't need an explanation.
For me, this one simply needed to be documented. 💙
Grateful for the people, the places and the moments that remind us we are part of a larger story.
Same sky. Same waters.

As you step into today,
A marker [17]-Taco-Tuesday,
know there's a family that loves you in a special sort of way.
We are the called who answered yes.
And for that we've been blessed, with a world often a mess.
Just know we've been inspected. Selected then protected.
And just as She expected,
we've grown as we've connected.
