Maintains near-normal RBF/GFR from 80–180 mmHg arterial pressure
(major site: afferent arteriole).

✅️Components:
🟣Macula densa: act as Chemoreceptors, monitors NaCl concentration in the distal convoluted tubule (DCT).
🟣Juxtaglomerular (JG) cells: in the wall of the afferent arteriole, secrete renin and act as baroreceptors.
🟣Extraglomerular mesangial (lacis) cells: supportive and phagocytic functions.
✅️Functions:
🟣🟣Chemoreceptors: detect NaCl in DCT; stimulate secretion of PGI2 (vasodilator) and adenosine (vasoconstrictor).
