I kinda see alot of candidates recently using this phrase in the beginning of their Part 2s. Tell you what : your examiner will give you a higher score if you meaningfully say nothing instead of using this structure.

You see, I believe we need to change the pronunciation of the word "hotel". It's way better to pronounce it like "HO-tel"💀☕️

Let's snap back to my first and last exams : — BC, September 26, 2024, CDI. The writing sub-score was a band 7; though if you look at the breakdown and do some math, it is clear that it was supposed to be a 6.5. — IDP, July 9, 2025, CDI. The writing sub-score is again a band 7, although the breakdown shows that it's a 6.5 What I'm trying to say is that in my opinion, exam writings could be checked, assessed and announced by AI, as well as score breakdowns that do not correspond with TRF scores. In this case, test centers, once having the writing section evaluated by AI, may be simply adding +0.5 in the TRF to the overall writing score it produces. Otherwise, there is no clear explanation why score breakdowns are incorrect.

The most pointless thing you can do now is to apply for a score breakdown in IDP. They send the incorrect version anyway, especially in terms of writing. That makes it so suspicious that you start to wonder whether your work still is checked by two Writing examiners or not.
