قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: يُحتمل أنه بغروب شمس اليوم الثلاثاء تدخل عشر ذي الحجة لهذا العام 1446، • It is possible that with the setting of the sun today, Tuesday, the ten days of Dhul-Ḥijjah for this year 1446 will begin. فيكون من يريد أن يضحي منهياً عن أخذ شعره أو ظفره أو الزائد من بشرته، • So whoever intends to offer a sacrifice is prohibited from taking from his hair, nails, or excess skin. ومأموراً بالإمساك عن ذلك حتى يضحي، • And is commanded to refrain from that until he offers the sacrifice. وتلك عبادة يُثاب عليها ويأثم بتركها، • And that is an act of worship for which one is rewarded, and is sinful for abandoning it, ثبَتت بأحاديث صحيحة لا معارض لها، • Established by authentic ahadith with no opposing evidence. أما من يُضحى عنه من الأهل، • As for the one on whose behalf the sacrifice is offered from among the family, فإمساكه عن الشعر والظفر والبشرة خيرٌ له، • Then his refraining from hair, nails, and skin is better for him, لفعل جماعة من السلف، وليس بلازمٍ له، • Due to the action of a group from the Salaf, but it is not obligatory upon him. قال نافع: إن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما مَرّ بامرأة تأخذ من شعر ابنها في الأيام العشر، • Nāfiʿ said: Ibn ʿUmar—may Allah be pleased with them both—passed by a woman cutting her son’s hair during the ten days. فقال: لو أخّرتيه إلى يوم النحر كان أحسن. • So he said: “If you delayed it until the Day of Sacrifice, it would be better.” أخرجه الحاكم بإسناد صحيح، • Reported by al-Ḥākim with a sound chain. فالوصية: تفقد الشعر والأظفار قبل الغروب، وأخذ ما يُحتاج لأخذه، • So the advice is to check the hair and nails before sunset, and to take what needs to be taken. وقد روى الجماعة إلا البخاري رحمهم الله، عن أم سلمة رضي الله عنها أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: • And it was narrated by the compilers of the Sunan—except al-Bukhārī, may Allah have mercy on them—from Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “إذا رأيتم هلال ذي الحجة وأراد أحدكم أن يضحي، فليمسك عن شعره وأظفاره.” • “When you see the crescent of Dhul-Ḥijjah, and one of you intends to offer a sacrifice, let him refrain from [cutting] his hair and nails.” ولفظ أبي داود ومسلم والنسائي: • And the wording of Abū Dāwūd, Muslim, and an-Nasāʾī is: “من كان له ذِبح يذبحه، فإذا أهل هلال ذي الحجة، فلا يأخذنَّ من شعره ومن أظفاره شيئاً حتى يضحي.” • “Whoever has a sacrifice he intends to offer, then once the crescent of Dhul-Ḥijjah is sighted, let him not take anything from his hair or nails until he offers the sacrifice.” وعن قتادة قال: قيل لسعيد بن المسيب: إن يحيى بن يعمر يفتي بخراسان: • And it was narrated from Qatādah who said: It was said to Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib: “Yahyā ibn Yaʿmur gives fatwā in Khurāsān: إذا دخل العشر، من أراد أن يضحي، فلا يأخذ من شعره ولا ظفره.” • When the ten [days] enter, whoever intends to sacrifice should not take from his hair or nails.” فقال سعيد: • Saʿīd said: صدق، كان أصحاب محمد ﷺ يقولون ذلك. • “He has spoken the truth. The Companions of Muhammad ﷺ used to say that.” رواه إسحاق في المسند بإسناد صحيح. • Reported by Isḥāq in al-Musnad with a sound chain. (ملحوظة: الأضحية هي الذبيحة التي يُتقرّب إلى الله بذبحها يوم العيد وأيام الذبح، وليس الحج سببها) • (Note: The Uḍḥiyah is the sacrificial animal that one offers to draw near to Allah on the Day of ʿĪd and the Days of Sacrifice; it is not due to Ḥajj.) https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli

قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: ثبت عن السلف من الصحابة فمن دونهم التكبير المطلق في أيام ذي الحجة من أولها إلى غروب شمس يوم الثالث عشر، • It is established from the Salaf—from the Companions and those after them—that unrestricted takbīr is to be done during the days of Dhul-Ḥijjah, from its beginning until the sunset of the 13th day. والتكبير المقيد بالصلوات من فجر يوم عرفة إلى غروب شمس يوم الثالث عشر، • And restricted takbīr after the prayers is from the Fajr of the Day of ʿArafah until the sunset of the 13th day. فآخره بعد صلاة العصر من ذلك اليوم، • So its final instance is after the ʿAsr prayer on that day. فاقتدِ بالسلف في ذلك تزدد أجرا • So follow the Salaf in this, and your reward will increase. https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli

قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: احرص على أن تكون في الأيام التسعة الأول من ذي الحجة صائمًا، • Be keen to fast during the first nine days of Dhul-Ḥijjah, فإن لم تكن صائمًا فكن طاعمًا شاكرًا، • But if you are not fasting, then be an eating, grateful one. واحمد الله عند الأكل وعند الشرب، • And praise Allah when you eat and when you drink, لتفوز برضى الله عنك، • So that you may attain the pleasure of Allah upon you, وليكون لك ما للصائم من الأجر، • And so that you may have the same reward as the fasting person. قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: • The Prophet ﷺ said: “إن للطاعم الشاكر من الأجر مثل ما للصائم الصابر” • “Indeed, the one who eats and is grateful has the same reward as the one who fasts and is patient.” https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli

قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: كان السلف يجتهدون في العشر الأول من ذي الحجة اجتهادًا كبيرًا، • The Salaf used to strive greatly in the first ten days of Dhul-Ḥijjah, فلا تحرم نفسك من الاجتهاد فيهن في سائر طرق الخير، • So do not deprive yourself of striving in them in all paths of goodness. فإن الحديث الوارد في فضل العمل الصالح فيهن جاء بصيغ مؤكدة للعموم، • For the hadith reported regarding the virtue of righteous deeds during them came in forms that strongly affirm generality, فلا يحتاج معه إلى نص خاص لكل عمل، • So it does not require a specific text for each individual deed. وليعظم اجتهادك في ترك الحرام فيهن، • And let your striving in abandoning the forbidden be even greater during them. فلا تحرم نفسك في هذه الأيام ولا تظلمها. • So do not deprive yourself in these days, and do not wrong it. https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli
