A Ukrainian Yak-52 piston-engine trainer aircraft has been used to intercept Russian Shahed/Geran-type long-range strike drones and reconnaissance UAVs over Odesa Oblast in southern Ukraine. The aircraft carries a two-person crew, with the crew member seated behind the pilot engaging the UAVs using an automatic rifle.
