there shouldn't be a need to draw the line, both are interlinked, which is to have faith and be action oriented

had an interesting conversation with a friend regarding the question of,

Where do you draw the line between taking action and leaving it to fate/God's plan?

because i find that devout believers often leave it in the hands of God, but where is the line? and it reminded me of this parable life will throw you the same lesson again and again until you finally get it

Parable of the drowning man A storm descends on a small town, and the downpour soon turns into a flood. As the waters rise, the local preacher kneels in prayer on the church porch, surrounded by water. By and by, one of the townsfolk comes up the street in a canoe. "Better get in, Preacher. The waters are rising fast." "No," says the preacher. "I have faith in the Lord. He will save me." Still the waters rise. Now the preacher is up on the balcony, wringing his hands in supplication, when another guy zips up in a motorboat. "Come on, Preacher. We need to get you out of here. This is your last chance." Once again, the preacher insists the Lord will deliver him. And, predictably, he drowns. A pious man, the preacher goes to heaven. After a while he gets an interview with God, and he asks the Almighty, "Lord, I had unwavering faith in you. Why didn't you deliver me from that flood?" God shakes his head. "What did you want from me? I sent you two boats and a helicopter."

why suffer twice?

just finished this film 'Ladies First', and thought it was really great, so i should share it it's about a misogynistic CEO waking up in a matriarchal society, where he experiences being at the receiving end of his usual behaviour toward ladies the parallels drawn in the matriarchal society were thought provoking once visualised also, its a comedic (i love comedy) film which made the it great too the ratings are trash on review sites, but hey, i'm no cinephile :-)

[BR] Strange Buildings by Uketsu third uketsu book i've read to finish the series. after this, ive concluded that Strange Houses is actually the mildest among the three. regarding the story, i felt extremely sad for Yaeko.. and some conclusions are a bit far fetched to me! if you prefer to read chronologically, it should be Pictures -> Houses -> Buildings my ranking: Pictures > Buildings > Houses 4/5

i've been sharing these (not these points exactly) with friends a lot over the years, because when it comes to the deathbed, the regrets spoken often narrows to the same few humans are born social, so hold on to your friends (esp men) if you want to age gracefully and happily generally my takeaways are always: • better to fail than regret • stop comparing, be more present • make that effort, do that inconvenience • protect your peace, choose to be happy related: 1. inconvenience is the price of community 2. time spent w different groups over time
