ā CHEMBARAKKAM LAKE.
ā Chembarambakkam lake is a lake located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. about 25 km from Chennai.
ā It is one of the two rain-fed reservoirs from where water is drawn for supply to Chennai City, the other one being the Puzhal Lake.
ā The Adyar River originates from this lake. A part of water supply of the metropolis of Chennai is drawn from this lake.
ā This was the first Artificial lake built by Rajendra Chola I the son of Rajaraja Chola and Thiripuvana Madeviyar, prince of Kodumbalur.

ā¢ Campi Flegrei (known as Phlegrean Fields in English) is an active volcanic arealocated in the vicinity of Naples, Italy.
ā¢ Unlike the nearby Mount Vesuvius, Campi Flegrei is not characterised by a single volcano.
ā¢ It is more of a volcanic system, with several centres situated within a caldera(the depression created when emptying magma chambers causes the roof of a volcano to collapse).
ā¦ It was formed 39,000 years ago after an eruption emptied it of magma. According to a new hypothesis, this eruption could have been the beginning of the end of the Neanderthal.
ā¦ One third of it lies under the Tyrrhenian Sea, between the Italian mainland and the countryās island of Sardinia.
ā¦ It is the largest active caldera in Europe. It is much larger than the cone-shaped Vesuvius, which destroyed the ancient Roman city of Pompeii in AD79, and is much more active.
ā¢ Scientists consider Campi Flegrei to be a supervolcano whose eruptions can have worldwide effects.
