Nurmuhammad is a silent killer π€ Iβd love to call him that because heβs the kind of person who loves growing and improving in silence.
We worked together for a very short period of time, but Iβm genuinely glad that I had the chance to help him pull off this amazing score. So proud of you, Nurmuhammad! This is just the beginning. π

| 15 | Overall, in an area where there is a stopbank, the structure is slightly more complicated, with a stopbank acting as an external defense, protecting the buildingβs surface. By contrast, when a stopbank is non-existent, the building itself is physically raised to ensure safety.
In the first scenario, a stopbank is placed in close proximity to a river or drain to reduce the risk of flooding. This barrier is raised at a height of the 100-year flood level with an additional support - a freeboard - exceeding the anticipated level, while a berm and a floodgate form the basis of this barrier. In case of rainfall, the rainwater runs off the surrounding land, accumulating as internal pond around houses, which stand on stilts above the pond.
In the absence of a stopbank, the houses are elevated on stilts, leaving 300mm of extra space well above the expected flood level. This freeboard ensures additional protection against 100-year flooding or ponding around buildings.

| 18 | Some educationalists think that international exchange visits will benefit teenagers at school. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
International student exchange programs are beneficial for teenage students. While this program is fairly expensive and might be limited to the privileged few, the advantages definitely overshadow this downside as it allows students to gain immersive experience abroad and learn languages at a native level.
One primary drawback of student exchange programs is the costs involved. Flights, accommodation, insurance and transport expenses can place an extra financial burden on students, confining such programs to affluent ones only. This financial barrier can also subtly widen inequality by providing opportunities to students who can afford, while somehow excluding those from lower-income families with limited resources. Take Westminster International University in Tashkent as a real-life example: the university does offer exchange programs to first-year students, though they have to pay for visas, flight and living expenses on their own.
The benefits, however, should not be overlooked. The chief among them is first-hand experience that such programs provide. Physically traveling to a foreign country exposes students to unfamiliar environments, different cultures and local customs as well as traditions β experiences that textbooks alone can never replicate. Consider a student from Uzbekistan traveling to Germany. They might live with a host family and learn how local people structure their day, interact with each other and celebrate national holidays. This direct exposure can challenge stereotypes and conservative views, fostering open-mindedness and tolerance.
Beyond this advantage, exchange programs also help students to learn foreign languages among native speakers. Sometimes, students β particularly those specializing in language courses β may only practice through grammatical exercises and memorized vocabulary with almost no opportunity to use the language naturally. If students abroad communicate with native speakers to order food, ask for directions or simply to get along with them, they will have to experiment with unfamiliar expressions and force themselves to speak. This nurtures confidence to make mistakes and adapt to real conversations in a foreign language.
In conclusion, although student exchange programs might involve significant costs, they do yield numerous benefits. They enhance cultural understanding by immersing students to a foreign culture and help them improve their language skills among native speakers, reducing reliance on textbooks.
