Lately, I’ve been feeling completely out of place, like I have no idea what I’m doing. It’s weird because on the surface, everything seems fine, but underneath, I’m constantly battling this feeling that I’m faking it, just barely getting by. Maybe it’s all in my head, but every day feels like I’m performing, pretending I’m not struggling with the work or with life in general. And instead of asking for help, I keep telling myself that I’ve got to figure it out on my own, as if showing any struggle would mean I’ve failed. The strangest part is, even when people give me compliments or praise my work, I can’t accept it. I always feel like I don’t deserve it, like somehow, I’ve tricked them into thinking I’m better than I really am. It’s almost like I’ve set myself up to believe that I’m not good enough, so if I do mess up, I won’t be surprised or hurt. It’s a way of protecting myself, but it’s also exhausting. No matter how much I get done, no matter how hard I work, I never feel proud of myself. Everything feels like luck, like I’m just coasting by, and any success isn’t really mine. I wonder if this is a common feeling like, do others go through this too? The constant push to keep up, the fear of being exposed as not good enough? It’s hard to tell if it’s just me or if a lot of us are quietly feeling the same. #blog @lulsgd_tc
