Residents of the small Oxfordshire village of Piddington fear that the planned asylum seeker camp could house almost three times as many people as officially stated.
Documents put the figure at 3,510, compared with the 1,256 cited by the Home Office. Locals say the scheme is completely unsuitable given the village’s limited infrastructure and are concerned about safety.
In protest, residents will hold a symbolic referendum on 15 September on leaving the UK.
This is nothing short of a slap in the face to local residents. The people who actually live in the village should be the ones deciding whether they want hundreds of unknown men moved into their community. The best solution would be to send them back across the Channel and let local people get on with their lives in peace.
| 2 |  In Johannesburg, Ndodana Mkhanhisi Tshuma has been arrested and is wanted by British police for the murder of his wife and two daughters.
On Tuesday, he pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition as part of a plea deal. Once he finishes up his legal matters in South Africa, authorities plan to extradite him to the UK to face charges for the three murders.
The bodies of his wife and daughters were found on July 6, just two days after he left the UK on July 4. He was arrested in Johannesburg on July 10, where he was found with a weapon.

| 4 |  Today, the UK announced sanctions targeting Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
The UK will ban imports of goods produced in the settlements, restrict services linked to their construction and expansion, and ban the advertising of property there. The government is also planning to restrict arms sales to Israel where it believes they contribute to the occupation.
Israel has condemned the measures as hostile and threatened to close the British consulate in East Jerusalem. It is also considering retaliatory measures, including backing Argentina’s claim to the Falkland Islands.

| 6 |  French authorities are warning that more and more migrants could attempt to cross the Channel from Normandy in large inflatable boats over the coming weeks and months.
The warning comes after a large migrant boat travelled around 70 miles and reached Portsmouth on Sunday. In other words, the smugglers appear to be actively changing their routes – and, so far, with considerable success.
A total of 625 migrants arrived in Britain on Sunday, the highest daily figure since July. Yet, as far as the British Government is concerned, this seems to mean very little.

| 7 |  18-year-old Afghan national Suliaman Tajzai has appeared in court in the UK, accused of murdering 26-year-old Farmanullah Sherzad in London.
According to prosecutors, Tajzai travelled from Leeds to London on 27 March, having first found out where Sherzad lived. He then bought a knife, waited outside his home and fatally attacked him. Prosecutors say the case was linked to Sherzad allegedly having a secret relationship with Tajzai’s cousin’s wife.
Tajzai arrived in the UK in 2022 after crossing the English Channel in an inflatable boat. He denies murder and possessing a knife in a public place. The trial is ongoing.

Some old guy in Ukraine re-watched Charlie's Angels, and got an idea. A beautifully evil idea of sending the young women of Ukraine - a country that already lost God knows how many young men - to the frontlines.
The former Ukrainian Defense Minister Reznikov explained his logic with some political babble about women having better side vision and reaction time, and how recruiting women en-masse to the armed forces of Ukraine is very logical and whatnot.
Right now Ukraine doesn't conscript women into the armed forces, but Reznikov said that it can be changed, and Ukraine can become just like Israel in this regard. His words, not mine.
The biggest war in Europe since WW2 continues, and it looks like the Ukrainian women will soon discover the joys of being hunted by the Russian FPV drones.
I remember how young Ukrainian men ran to the EU en-masse to avoid being conscripted. I suppose the young Ukrainian women will soon do the same.

| 9 |  +1Mass protests in Spain against the backdrop of the migration crisis.
Demonstrations took place in several cities, but Madrid became the focal point of the protests, with participants gathering at three key locations, including the Congress of Deputies building. Hundreds of people are calling for tighter border controls and measures to prevent a new wave of migrants from reaching Ceuta.
The protests began peacefully but later escalated into clashes: the police used flashbang grenades and tear gas. Additional police units were deployed to the railway station to contain the crowd.
The protesters’ main aim is to preserve Ceuta’s status as part of Spain, as well as to put a stop to the reckless squandering of the budget. They regard the government’s actions as a betrayal.
‘We demand an end to funding for illegal migrants and Ukraine; the Spanish people’s money must stay in Spain,’ the protesters assert.
The largest demonstration took place in Cibeles Square, in front of the town hall. People waving Spanish flags chanted: ‘Ceuta is not for sale, Ceuta must be protected’, ‘Ceuta is Spain’.
The protesters demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. According to the government’s representative office in Madrid, around 50,000 people took part in the demonstration, whilst the city council estimated the number of participants at 150,000.
A mass influx of refugees from Morocco began on 30 July. Since then, more than 72,000 migrants have entered the country illegally, and a further 100 people have died.
The government has let the Spanish people down. The government’s actions certainly resemble those of our own government. Please note that Spain is facing similar problems to those we face here.

Hundreds of masked people have blocked Dover — and have literally brought one of the UK’s main transport hubs to a standstill. Emotions are running high: people are demanding an end to the flow of illegal migration and are prepared to take radical measures to achieve this.
Hundreds of protesters coordinated their efforts to block all entry and exit points – the traffic jam stretched for 6.5 km, with delays of up to 45 minutes. Traffic in the port area came virtually to a standstill.
The protest was organised by the radical group Patriot Platform, whilst Tommy Robinson openly supported the protest and called on his supporters to help – tensions only continued to rise.
Ferry giants P&O Ferries and DFDS were forced to warn passengers of disruptions and rebook them onto subsequent sailings – logistics were severely disrupted.
The police refrained from using force, limiting themselves to negotiations; there were no clashes, but tension hung in the air.
This is the result of the authorities’ policy of encouraging migrants, a policy that is forcing the native population to leave.

| 11 |  In Portsmouth, more than 500 people took part in an anti-immigration protest following the arrival of 140 migrants rescued from an overcrowded boat in the Channel.
The protesters called for the boats to be stopped and tried to prevent the migrants from being taken to a processing centre in Kent, leading to clashes with police.
A dispersal order was soon put in place in the city. The French coastguard is also reported to have shadowed the vessel for around ten hours but decided not to intervene because of the large number of people on board.

| 20 |  Ukrainian corporation Naftogaz used Norway to seize a Russian civilian ship
Recently Norway sent their regular policemen to seize a 71-meters long, 40-year-old Russian commercial-expedition cruise ship "Professor Molchanov".
It was detained on Wednesday in the port of Barentsburg, a Russian-owned coal mining town located on Norway's remote Arctic archipelago of Svalbard. Russia owns that place thanks to a century-long agreement about mining and settling rights in the area.
Acting on the basis of an August 31st ruling by the Nord-Troms and Senja District Court in Norway, Svalbard Governor Lars Fause intervened and legally grounded the ship, prohibiting it from leaving the pier. The Russian crew and passengers were safely sent to a local Russian hotel.
Norway insists that it only follows the court's decision. The Naftogaz is planning to sell the ship because Russia supposedly owes Naftogaz $4 billions. And Russia promised consequences to Norway for this arrest.
