I’m not really technical or anything, I just recently started learning stuff 😭 but sometimes I feel like making a channel just to vent about whatever random tech thing I’m currently learning or confused about lol.

The GPS you didn’t know you had….
There’s a study I couldn’t stop thinking about. Researchers found that people who relied heavily on GPS showed measurably reduced hippocampal activity compared to those who navigated independently. London taxi drivers who memorize over 25,000 streets to earn their license have measurably enlarged hippocampal regions. The cognitive structure literally grows around the practice.
GPS didn’t make those people less intelligent. It made them less navigational.
The tool doesn’t lower your ceiling. It just means you stop building certain floors.
The question I keep coming back to is: What floor am I okay not building? For navigation, most of us decided the trade-off was worth it. For reasoning, writing, and problem-solving the things I actually want to be I’m not sure I’ve made that decision consciously. I think I’ve just been letting it happen.
