India’s wild tiger population has grown remarkably, rising from 2,226 in 2014 to 3,682 today, marking a steady 6.1% annual increase. This success stems from dedicated efforts like Project Tiger, launched in 1973, and robust wildlife protection laws that curb poaching and secure tiger habitats. As the custodian of over 70% of the world’s tigers, India focuses on preserving forests, strengthening conservation policies, and involving local communities. Each tiger’s survival signifies ecological balance, making India a global leader in protecting these majestic big cats for future generations.
