I learned something from @inkzyio in Agora.
Socrates died insisting that real knowledge only lives in dialogue. He hated writing. Then Plato, his own student, went and built an Academy to write it all down.
To me, that's the original sin of Western philosophy. Taking something that was meant to be a street fight and locking it inside an institution. The moment Plato made philosophy a "subject," people started worshipping texts instead of actually chasing truth.
The modern university is just Plato's Academy on steroids. People who you can call "philosophers" writing papers nobody reads, arguing about each other's citations while the world burns.
That's part of why Agora means what it does to me. Mentors make you practice. They sit you across from someone who disagrees and ask you to defend what you actually think.
I saw it in class, at Agora Talks, on the Walk&Talks. With Husan, I worked out why I actually want to study economics and how it fits into my own story. Which was really helpful.
Agora isn't the only reason for anything if I've done well, and honestly, it was never about success anyway.
I suspect I got better at understanding how I think and present myself outwardly, while quietly building a genuine community of people who truly care on the inside.
So I'm convinced that Agora is building the sharpest pens in the region on the outside but is the best intellectual community on the inside
So next time Husan asks for your Obsidian notes on Mark Twain, tell him you're Socrates. You don't write. haha
Oh, and @agora_writing has Dr. Aleksandr Kapitonov tomorrow, don't miss him. He is sort of a cool prof I met in @walkndtalk.
See you out in one of the Walk & Talks!

what are the chances? two years apart. same score, every single section. sounds concerning?
couldn't prepare at all tho — registered at the last minute by the request of the dear Stirling Foundation, since they couldn't accept the expired one. short notice, no revision = same outcome after 3 days. make it make sense
oh and I took it for $0. perks of the scholarship: you can just... email the foundation and ask them to pay for things, study expenses. highly recommend looking into similar grants, foundations and fellowships. they're out there and most don't apply let alone research 💣
so your take, I'd expect, is applying to as many scholarships possible. I might have got into this and guq, but I've got rejected from countless other US colleges, uwc, and ivys over my senior and gap year. because the second best advice Yakhyo can give is "Don't put all your eggs in one basket."

I came across this scrolling through. Reminds me of the application review reports we had access to in the admissions program, that AOs do on each applicant. Similarly this file explains the amissions office workflow and evaluation criteria for undergraduate application review of specifically but not limited to Harvard:
Reading Procedures, Class of 2018 Type: Internal admissions operations manual (confidential) It has: Ethnicity coding Citizenship classification School codes, gender, lineage, and special flags (AEO, athlete, etc.) Overall Rating (1–6 scale) 1 = near-certain admit 6 = unread Subscores: Academic Extracurricular Athletic Personal School Support Converted diverse grading systems into a standardized GPA and CGS (Converted Grade Score) Multi-reader system: First reader → possible chair/third reader Routing rules based on rating thresholds (e.g., 2− or better escalated) etc. Also used in a legal case (SFFA, Harvard) trial exhibit.🥸 Idk if I can share this tho, since it's confidential, so save it before deleted. #sharingiscaring

It is always so great to have a deep conversation with people that you didn’t see for a while.
You see how much each of you have grown in ways that both are expected and unexpected, and seeing that difference is one of-a-kind one can experience in life.
I felt close to this feeling as I was having a conversation with my men from SATashkent and Share project!

Some of the Discord Servers I am a member of:

1. https://discord.gg/english
2. https://discord.gg/edgy
3. https://discord.gg/politics
4. https://discord.gg/enru
5. https://discord.gg/centralasians
Because I'm inactive on Discord, I don't engage in general discussions, as much as like I do on Telegram. Still at least 3-4 times a month, I find myself in one of five servers above, at 3 am, in a voice chat, hanging out, making some distant new friends. If you don't have the app yet, you don't have to force it -- you'll know when the time is right to open a discord account. For instance, I downloaded it to improve my English talking to natives back then in 2023. And it's never late.

Some more iconic shoots
First time travelling around the camp; even though we trespassed / didn't follow the camp rules, it was worth it. We discovered bitter sweet berry bushes, took pics with the legendary "Yoshlar Oromgohi" sign, more importantly tho, adventured to the fullest. Not recommended to violate safety regulations, but do try breaking out of your comfort — don't suppress your courage.
