Timeless Ouro Preto: 1880 vs 2020 🇧🇷
There is a gap of 140 years between these photos. In 1880, the hooves of mules clattered here and the dust of the gold rush era stood. Today, the mules have been replaced by cars, and the prospectors by tourists.
But look at St. Francis Church. She doesn't care what century it is. Transportation, clothing, technology everything has changed, but the architecture has remained intact. It stands as a silent witness to what used to be built not for the season, but for eternity.
The scenery changes, the grandeur remains.

Hauptbahnhof 🇩🇪
Essen was the home of the Krupp factories, which is where most German weaponry was built in WWII.
Most of the inner city area was demolished during air raids 1943-1945, including the Hauptbahnhof. It was rebuilt in a „modern“ style after the war. Pretty much all of that has been replaced as well since, leaving us with that station today.

Murud-Janjira Fort: a fortress drowning in the sea 🌊
Murud-Janjira Fort, 13 miles off the coast of Mumbai, is one of India's most unique and mysterious forts. It doesn't just stand on land - it literally “floats” in the waters of the Arabian Sea, on a small island that can only be reached by boat.
Construction of the fort began in 1560 under the leadership of Sultan Ahmed Nadashi, and its main purpose was to protect the western coasts of India from attacks by the Portuguese and Dutch. The fort has withstood sieges and attacks many times in its history, but despite this, it remained impregnable. Even during the times of British colonization, Janjira remained independent and the local rajas proudly maintained their autonomy.
💡 Interesting fact: On the territory of the fort are the remains of ancient palaces, mosques and wells, as well as old cannons preserved from the times of the Great Siege. Especially impressive are the giant walls, which are up to 33 feet high!

Petra, an ancient city in Jordan 🛕
He was built by the Nabataeans around 312 BC and was under construction for over 500 years. This unique city served as an important trading center, linking the Arabian Peninsula with Egypt and the Mediterranean. Peter's main purpose was to manage caravans carrying spices, silk and other goods.
Interesting facts: ⬇️
1. Petra was forgotten for thousands of years and was only rediscovered in 1812 by Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt.
2. The city is carved right into the pink sandstone cliffs, which gives it its unique color and the name "Pink City".
3. Petra's most famous structure is the Kazneh (Al Khazneh), an imposing rock-cut tomb temple used in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Petra is one of the new Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Journey into Earth's past: Arizona Meteor Crater ☄️
50,000 years ago, a nickel-iron meteorite travelling at 28,600 mph (8 m/s) crashed into the Earth's surface, forming one of our planet's most impressive craters.
Measuring more than 0.8 miles in diameter and up to 750ft deep. Arizona Crater is located in the northern part of the state of Arizona, near the city of Flagstaff, USA.
Throughout the research, about 15 tonnes of meteorite fragments have been found both inside and around the crater.

Ancient City: Carcassonne 🏙
Carcassonne is a picturesque medieval fortress city in the south of France that is over 2,500 years old. Founded in the 6th century BC, it has been an important strategic point and cultural center for centuries.
What makes Carcassonne unique is its well-preserved double city walls and 52 towers, which create an impressive and almost fairytale-like appearance. These fortifications played a key role in the Middle Ages, protecting the city from numerous attacks. Inside the walls is a castle built in the 12th century and ancient narrow streets that still retain the atmosphere of that era.
Interestingly, Carcassonne inspired the creation of a popular board game named in its honor.
