Little snippet into my outside environment but I had such an insane opportunity at my worksite to skip a level that usually required me to be in for 2 years. I was interviewed twice and was so impressive in both that I was recommended by 2 of the highest managers in my warehouse. Even with how impressive that was, I ended up losing out on the opportunity to someone who’d been there x3 times longer than me, but instead of being upset about it like anyone else would, I’m really motivated. The fact that I made it that far in such a competitive environment that I didn’t think was possible has fueled me with the excitement I didn’t think I needed. Felt like I had to say something about it since I was given so much hope just to be rejected in the end. I’m really just happy to even have been able to make it that far into the process for such a high role in a major company without a degree and no experience. TLDR; I made it far in an internal promotion decision to double my salary just to end up in 2nd place and not get it but I’m not sad about it, just really motivated that I have the ability to even do something like that. 💜
