InteRussia Fellows Step into the World of Russian Musicals 🎭 After visiting the Bolshoi Theater, the Maly Theater, and the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre, the fellows added a modern twist to their cultural journey with a stop at the Moscow Musical Theater. Their guide for this latest theatrical adventure? None other than Mikhail Shvydkoy, the theater's artistic director.

He began his journey at the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts before rising through the ranks of the cultural sector. His notable positions include heading the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company and leading the "Culture" TV channel. From 2000 to 2004, Shvydkoy served as Russia's Minister of Culture. Currently, he balances his role as the artistic director of the Moscow Musical Theater with his duties as the Special Presidential Representative for International Cultural Cooperation

Shvydkoy took the fellows on a journey through time, from the Soviet era when stages reflected everyday realities to the present day where theaters offer an escape from daily life. He shared insights on the challenges of past censorship, the creativity enjoyed today, and even revealed some facts about their audience demographics. From the grandeur of the Bolshoi to the modern beats of musicals, these fellows aren't just watching Russian theater evolve – they're getting a front-row seat to their show! #interussia #theatre

From Lab to Field: InteRussia Fellows Continue to Plunge into the World of Fertilizer Production 🌱 Our fellows in agrobiotechnologies recently became guests of the Uralchem Innovation Reseacrh and Development Center with a profound technological infrastructure capable of covering a wide range of agrobiotechnology-related tasks.

Uralchem is the leading producer of fertilisers and chemical products in Russia and is among the largest players worldwide. The key area of its activity is the production of nitrogen, potash and complex fertilisers, feed additives, as well as chlorine-free premium fertilisers with micronutrients. Moreover, Uralchem Group offers industrial chemicals for various industries, including chemical, construction, mining, metalworking, oil and gas, and others.

Our engineers saw with their own eyes how science and technology come together to inspire a global shift in agriculture. In particular, they 🍀 got acquainted with Uralchem's innovative projects in the Asian and African dimensions; 🍀 discussed the latest agricultural trends; 🍀 visited the laboratories, where they discovered the full cycle of fertilizer production. Beyond the Stage: InterRussia Theatre Fellows Explore Mosfilm 🎬 Not by theatre alone! While our InterRussia theatre fellows are well-versed in the world of stage performances, they recently broadened their horizons with a foray into the realm of cinema. Their destination? None other than the legendary Mosfilm studios.

Mosfilm, the cornerstone of Russian cinema since 1924, has been the birthplace of over 2,500 films, many of which have earned international acclaim. Now it is one of the largest studios in Europe.

Their Mosfilm adventure included: 📚A journey through time at the Mosfilm Museum, where they delved into the studio's history 🚘An encounter with mechanical stars — a collection of retro cars that have played supporting roles in films 😱A spine-tingling exploration of the exhibition dedicated to "Viy," the first USSR's first horror film 📸A stroll through crafted sets replicating historical St. Petersburg and Moscow The young actors left feeling enriched, ready to bring their own stories to the world stage (or at least to the stage of GITIS for now)! #interussia #theatre #фпг

A Day at PhosAgro: What Our Fellows Learned About Russian Farming 🌍 Our InteRussia agrobiotechnology fellows just got a glimpse into the heart of Russia's agricultural powerhouse — PhosAgro! As Europe's largest producer of phosphate-based fertilizers and the world's top manufacturer of high-grade phosphate rock, PhosAgro produces over 50 types of mineral fertilizers, powering farms across 102 countries. Their eco-friendly products help feed nearly half the world's population, making PhosAgro Russia's number one fertilizer exporter and a pioneer in solutions tackling climate change and environmental challenges. They explored PhosAgro's state-of-the-art educational center at the Russian State Agrarian University. Founded in 1989, Aquarius has grown to become a cornerstone of Russia's electronics industry. This tech giant isn't just talking about innovation — they're living it. With production facilities capable of churning out over 2.5 million high-tech devices annually, Aquarius stands as one of the largest domestic IT manufacturers in Russia. They handle it all in-house: from computer hardware and system boards to electronic modules and software-hardware complexes.

For the entire week, the engineers developed complex innovative projects in cross-disciplinary teams as part of the Innovation Workshop at the Skoltech.

Innovation Workshop is a unique month-long "boothcamp"-style course where students engage in experiential project- and inquiry-based learning to live through the entire technology innovation "cycle", progressing from idea to product.

But one thing's for sure — in the world of theatre, even a chair isn't just a chair — it's a prop, a partner, and apparently, a gymnastics apparatus! InteRussia Fellowship in Engineering Get Started ▶️ On August 30th, the InteRussia Fellowship in Agrobiotechnologies and Wireless Technologies was launched at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in Moscow. The rising engineers from Azerbaijan, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Kazakhstan, Mali, Nigeria, Tunisia, and Sierra Leone were addressed by representatives from the Gorchakov Fund and the Skoltech. As part of the opening ceremony, our new fellows visited the Project Center for Next Generation Wireless and Internet of Things and the Project Center for Agro Technologies, where for a whole month they will ⚙️ dive into the Innovation Workshop course to get acquainted with the Institute's main achievements and areas of activity; ⚙️ work in the Skoltech laboratories and visit leading Russian IT and agricultural export companies; ⚙️ develop own cutting-edge research in STEM. 🤗 We have welcomed 15 international students selected for the InteRussia fellowship programs in agrobiotechnologies and wireless technologies organized together with the Gorchakov Fund.  Starting in the first week of September, our fellows will dive into a new experience at the Innovation Workshop course. During the rest of the month, they'll be busy working on their research projects at the Wireless and Agro centers.

InteRussia opens the door wide to the world of Russian theatre 🎭 On 29 August, the TASS Agency hosted a press conference devoted to the launch of the InteRussia fellowship programme in theatre arts. The event was addressed by Deputy Executive Director of the Gorchakov Fund Victoria Karslieva. Key talking points: 🟡This is the first programme of a kind for rising actors as part of the InteRussia project. Over 80 applications has been submitted in total. 🟡The programme is attended by actors from Argentina, Brazil, India, South Africa, Iran, and China. 🟡During the four weeks, the fellows are expected to attend trainings in acting skills, stage movement, and scenic speech. They will also be treated to lectures on the history of Russian theatre, creative development of Konstantin Stanislavski ans his system, as well as rich cultural programme.

“The main idea behind InteRussia is to showcase new technology, brands and products that are available in our country. At the same time, we try to structure the programme in such a way that an employer would allow their employee to go on leave for four weeks. This means that the fellowship should be of such a level that she or he is released from work and receive not only advanced training or master new skills, but also meet new people, among other things,”
